Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'd like to get your opinions on mounting options for GT3 seats. Is the factory manual slider better or do you prefer the BK mount direct to the floor of the car? Car is for occasional use on the street and track days. Other options? Thoughts?

POST 2Original post

I have recently put the GT3 seats in my car. They were more comfortable on a recent 8 hour trip out to Mid Ohio track then I thought they would be. I have the factory sliders and would recommend them. Remember, if you need to get to anything in the back of the car or get to the back (ie to clean the rear window), the ability to move the seats forward is a godsend. The fact that they just bolt in place is also a plus. If you are going to do this yourself, remember not to turn the key on while the seats are out or you will get an airbag error code on the dash. The electrical seat connector for the the seatbelt "switch" can be taken apart so that you can just plug the seatbelt part into the the main wiring harness sans the power connection for the seat.

POST 3Original post

Depends I have them with supplied kit. They are lower than Pole Positions but I'd still like em lower to get my shoulder harnesses more flat. Probably the best option is to get the BK lowering kit for the GT3 seat which eliminates the sliders completely for another inch of lowering. This is what I'm going to do. If you have stock belts then just use them as supplied by Porsche.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

bnewport - I hadn't thought about the shoulder harness "flattening" aspect of this. Are you a tall person, or is this an issue that a 5'10" guy like me would have too? I have the tequipment bar but haven't bought harnesses yet. Any suggestions there?

POST 5Original post

I put the seat s in with the stock sliders.... I'm 5'11" and still have 2" clearance over my head with my hemet on.... The shoulder harnesses fit nicely too..... I spent a long time reasesarching harness manufacturers and settled on the Simpson Platnium Cam Lock 6pt. instead of Sparco.... I also bought the BK adapters so the lap belts clip in and out and the seat base, very convienient for those track days.... Alal in all I am quite pleased with the fit of the belts.... I have pictures of the install but have not figured out how to post them here yet PM me if you want some pics....

POST 6Original post

I'm 5 ft 9 and it is a problem depending on where your harness bar is. I have a DasSport Weekender and the bar is 3 inches too low really. So, it depends on where the harness bar is.
