Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everybody. I am form Iceland. And this is my second post to Rennlist. I write this post because my friend has a Porsche 996 C2 model 2000. This summer he changes the transmission. Problem was that the synchronizer ring for second gear was very bad. So he sends the transmission to Germany and got another one back, two weeks later. When I put that transmission in his car I found out that it have limed slip differential. We thought that it would just be better but we are very wrong. Now the PSM and ABS did not work. Is that because of the LSD or are some other things broken? Are maybe some another control unit for the ABS if yours car have LSD? Please find out what is wrong with car and please not tell me that we have to send the transmission back to Germany. Thank you Halldor Johannsson

POST 2Original post

I pretty sure LSD was not available in MY 2000, at least on US spec cars, and would not be compatible with PSM.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you for yours answer. I will talk to Porsche if they can sell me something to fix it. I will let you know if I got any answer from them. Best regards, Halldor
