check e-bay, Im not saying its the same car but same wheels (size, style) also a 1999 clone RSR, same yellow (light tone) just thought you had the only 99 clone with fiske wheels in that same yellow, Didnt mean to start anything I just think the one I saw and was bad ***.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

well I picked up my RSR
clone
the other night. All I can say is WOW!!!!
this thing is just amazing!!! in every way. I need to raise it up about .5 inches, but otherwise it's incredible.
The company that built the car is called
http://www.theracersgroup.com
. the are located at sears point in Cali.
car has Fikse wheels that were made (they are local for me) around the kit, and some basic motor work done to it (header, exhaust, intake, piggy back computer). full suspension ie: H&R coils, H&R sway bars bushings etc etc....
car also has upgraded headlights, taillights, carbon interior (fake so I have to replace it
) short shift, clutch, flywheel... so many things
couple pics
edited my words to make some people happy
Shouldnt that be a GT3 RS R? The normal GT3 RS that porsche makes is white blue or white red. They sell the real one in here in Mexico. Still you car looks mean as hell! Definetaly a complete race car look! Cool!
NIIICE! good stuff man.
i was originally gonna do the same thing thru TRG but backed away from it.
get that car decked out in racing paint ASAP
.
lookin nice man.
i'll bet that thing scares the sheize out of the average ricer/motorist. (or will, once u put on some bypass pipes..right?....right?!?!)
post some more pics and of the interior
you know i did say a clone, but should be more specific for you. it is an rsr (i am still learning the specifics on these cars) body kit. the racers group built the car so its done the right way. i personally would love it white
but a whole respray is spendy. the car has 30k miles and i am the 3rd owner.
Doesn't look like any GT3 RS I've seen. And I have seen a bunch of them. I've even seen a genuine one in pure white without the red or blue livery. I didn't know you could get a sunroof on even the regular dime a dozen RS.
please read what I said.... sorry i am learning the cars. some people make it feel like I am on an import car forum
sorry i put in the wrong height adjustment the first time. the car is going up about 1/2 inch or so. the front rubs a little to much on the radiators... and it is so hard to get into driveways and speedbumps (if I can go over them haha) . So this will just make it easier for that. Also the car hits the bump stops... Hoping to get out to a track day this coming week.
There is a vibration around 65mph.. and goes away around 85 right now.. but the front tires need to be replaced (yoko's right now) and the rear got replaced the day I picked it up ( Toyo T1R's) so I ordered a new front pair so they are matched.
Thank you everyone for your input. This is my first Porsche, but I have built 12 VW's and won alot of shows. I have been racing with the local chapter of the Porsche Club and they are great people.
here is my old car
and from the magazine feature
Brucem don't take it too hard as many of the people on this board are not THAT knowledable either. You are right you do have a GT3RS 1st generation racer clone. Many have the mispreception that you are talking about the street GT3 of 2004-2005. There was a street RS version which looks the same as the GT3, but it had painted wheels (red or blue) and had modifications to the car to make it lighter and faster. It was only available in Europe. The RSR is a newer generation race car with the newer lights and fenders and some aerodynamic changes.
WOW i likey! of course i like anything "boy racer" like. nice RSR conversion. now you need the power to back up the looks. the fikses are 18"s right? now you need some TRG decals
^ hey carlos!, i've been lookin for ya!, just wanted 2 ask you how hard it was to fit ur GT2 front bumper. was the quality good? have u tracked the car with that bumper yet? how was it?
Thanks guys!! i apprciate that. The Fikse's are actually 19".. The motor has basic bolt on's .... i am picking up all the paper work today so that way I know exactly what was done.
TRG decals would be cool for track days... and yes originally I was talking about my car being the "race car" clone.. not the street car .... the race cars come in ANY color
yo D-E ! i honestly couldn't give you first hand accounts of the the gt2 "look" bumper install since sharkwerks did the install while i was in france. they said it wasn't too bad but was a little hard to fit. if you are looking for perfect then have it finished by your best body guys. i had it finished and painted by departstop (also bought it from them) and while the paint match is good, the finish detail work is average. you can see a few ripples. i am not picky so it's perfect for me
. overall a B grade. haven't tracked it yet but will at the end of september. gotta install some mesh cuz the gaping wide ducts are debris magnets. i already have a nickel sized dent in my brand new center radiator arghh!
No side marker lights?
wow that's definitely a head turner. I might consider some dark colored wheels in the future. Is this yellow really this light or is it your camera? But you DEFINITELY need some GT3 seats. (and a silver hood crest).
YEs new seats are coming... along with silver hood crest ( saw that the other day on ebay.. great idea) and rear badge.. The color is a lighter yellow than fly yellow.. called Pastel yellow.. in person it looks SO good.. in pictures.. not so good..
there are so many things I want for this car.. but I will be "somewhat" patient
I have a good friend who owns this company
www.statusracing.com
so I will be installing these seats and a harness bar real soon. Thinking some carbon kevlar seats to match the yellow.. maybe carbon kevlar interior trim also. kind of like these seats
go with a roll bar! it safer especially since you will be going with the race seats. the stainless steel tequipment roll bar would look pimp! it looks pimp in my ride
link for the roll bar? here are some pics from rockitman's install.

i believe sunset porsche (in OR) and brandywine has the best prices.
Not to worry. We are all car freaks here, at least I am. Just busting ***** a little bit is all.
To me a clone is indistinguishable from the original. Your's is a lovely car, for sure, but not altogether convincing.
Enjoy. And don't take any of us, myself in particular, too seriously.
nah man....go all out on that beast. Rennsport rollcage. it has 3 main pieces: the back part, the front part and the cross bars for the doors, all of which can be taken out and put back in depending on application.
that way, u can run carbon fiber doors too
i saw that car at the auto gallery in seattle about a year and a half ago when i was porsche hunting... i'm assuming someone bought it there, and just recently sold it? i think they were asking like $69k for it at the time which I think was a bit ridiculous for a 99..
no rebuilt title on this car
i checked it before I got it. The car was bought by the guy I bought if from back in the beginning of 01. We have been friends for 10 years now. His family is very well off and he just thought this car would be cool as hell (it is but he doesn't think so, so I will let him think that
)he didn't think it would be so much of a "race car" setup. he has owned 3 NSX's and built rx-7's.... so he is going to a 355 now.
THAT IS FINE WITH ME!!!
that just makes me get a great deal
He has had this car for sale via consignment at a dealership for about $70k.. and never advertised is..
Needless to say I am damn happy and feel lucky for what I have (and worked hard for)
check e-bay, Im not saying its the same car but same wheels (size, style) also a 1999 clone RSR, same yellow (light tone) just thought you had the only 99 clone with fiske wheels in that same yellow, Didnt mean to start anything I just think the one I saw and was bad ***. Check E-bay and see the sellers question and answers the car was on there a couple of times maybe 2-3 months a ago so that you can see how close it looks to yours.
I dont have a link I also tried but its not there anymore the pic of the car was infront of a garage of a house also the guy had 2 sets of seats for it but was selling with the original ones, still they are bad aszzzzzzzz. If you are doubting you can P.M. me your vins as I work in a dealer an can carfax for you as a favor. Also make sure the title is from your state not out of state sometimes for ex (geogia to florida) wont show rebuilt there are was that people have pulled scams to clean them trust me ive seen it personally but they eventually got caught and police know what to look for but still you never know.
no I appreciate it, but the was bought from a friend on mine. I have a carfax and it's clean and it's a WA title
I have know the owner since 95
what dealer do you work for? i use to do finance at a dealer in the south end
Bruce,
Here's a little background on the R/RS/RSR series so you know what car yours is mimicking. Porsche makes two series of production racecars that it sells to customers. The GT3 Cup Car and the R series. The cup car is based on a narrow bodied 996 chassis while the R series has a wide body. The cup car starts at about $120k without spares although there are several variants such as world cup cars and cup cars with R engines. The R series is double that. I think it would be most accurate to say that your car attempts to mimic the body of a GT3 R. The RS and RSR came later. Here is a picture of a GT3 R running me down in a club race a couple of years ago. Ive driven an R and its absolutely amazing. Yours on the other hand will not be that great on the track. You have way too much body for the HP your engine will make. The R is great with 450 hp but with 300 hp all that wind resistance is going to suck. Not knocking the car. Just dont go picking a race with a stock C2. Have fun.
Jim
Wow! That is one great shot Jim. I assume your #89 car is your dedicated track car? Looks like some healthy camber there still left on that left sweeper. Bet it handles like a champ!!! Very nice
I think the right caption for the picture is "Sometimes you're the cat, sometimes you're the mouse." Obviously in this case I was the mouse.
Dell,
This is an old shot of my racecar. It really hasn't changed much in appearance since the picture but has been updated with a new 3.6L X51, triple adjustable Motons and RSR adjustable springs. Given the Grand Am Cup 996s can't run the X51 and weigh 100 lbs more than me, I suspect I can claim it's the fastest n/a 996 around. If only it had a driver.
Jim
oooh jim, you went with the triple adjustables eh? mmmmm... are there 2 adjustments (fast and slow) for compression and 1 adjustment for rebound?
can i claim fastest n/a 3.4L around?
btw, great shot!
THank you very much Jim.. that is some great info
So what your really trying to tell me is I need to buy a bigger motor..... RIGHT
well the car will be fun for lapping days.. and auto-x days at least
Carlos,
I purchased a barely used racing suspension from a friends 996TT club racer when he decided not to race the turbo. It was made up of the 3-way race Motons and adjustable rate RSR springs. Pretty trick stuff. As amazing as my suspension was before, it's even better now. The 1600/1800 lb spring rates might make it a little harsh for the street though.
Yep, you can claim the fastest 3.4L. It might start a pretty interesting argument. I'm just waiting for someone to challenge my claim.
Later,
Jim
Bruce,
HP is good!
Actually what I don't like about the car is it might have trouble backing up the flash. That doesn't mean it won't be fun though.
Enjoy,
Jim
Jim
which classes are you running. (my 99' is destined to become a dedicated track car in a few years, for PCA/POC club racing stock classes)
That was the car that sat at I-5 Motors forever. It's interesting
Thanks
Rob,
I run in PCA Stock C. The main competition comes from 993RS Club Sports, 993TTs, prepared RS Americas, etc. It's becoming a fun class. Last week at Road America there were 14 C cars signed up and at least 11 ran. There were also a couple GT3s in stock B to play with. Lots of fun.
Jim
Bruce,
The car looks great!! Living in L.A. we see all of the Rufs, Strosek, Gemballa, modified cars and when the work is done right, they look fantastic! Enjoy it!!
Thank your Greg I appreciate that. I went to a track day here near Seattle yesterday and alot of the P-car owners there were very impressed with the car, well the way it looks at least, I can't drive it on the track due to bad clutch, and suspension needing to be dialed in
that will be all done next week though
Bruce nice car, Theh previous owner showed it with my car club last summer down at Sandpoint. I love the car and it sounds awesome. Have fun with it.
