Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No need to reply with message, just answer poll question.

POST 2Original post

Too bad I can't vote twice, because my 2001 C4 never leaked either.

POST 3Original post

Third leak, let you know if they'll replace the engine next week

POST 4Original post

hey moderators, is there anyway to make this poll a sticky? i think this the third poll of it's kind over the last few months and it would be good if it was an ongoing poll. i guess anyone can always bump the thread to the top if it gets lost down the list.

POST 6Original post

The only way this will have any meaning is if a dedicated owner pm"s every 996 owner on the board and keeps track of the result. It really wouldn't be very difficult. Just look at the sig and fire off the same pm. Within 50 messages, the approximate parameters will be known. The question to each owner would be: year of 996 rms leak or not how many mileage at first leak average miles between leaks I'm sure anyone with this size investment will respond, since they all have skin in the game. AS

POST 7Original post

wow 86 views and only 25 votes ?!?!?!?! that sux

POST 8Original post

This thread can be viewed by all Porsche owners, so perhpas all the 944, Boxster, and older 911 owners are checking it out... doesn't mean 996 peeps aren't voting. It's also about the 5th poll on this subject in a year...

POST 11Original post

Although this is an unscientific poll, it nevertheless is reassuring to see that over 85% of 996 owners who responded have either experienced no rms leak or only one leak with no recurrence.

POST 12Original post

On my forth...and couldnt be prouder of my ride!

POST 13Original post

I'm one of the 85 that looked, didnt post because with 900 miles it wouldnt be right
