Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Replace 100+' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace 100+' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Did my brakes recently in about 30-45 minutes all while listening to neighbor talk about how cool it was that I could change the pads on a car like this.

i don't know about clutch and flywheels, but if they charge you more than one hour for changing pads, you have been had.

DIY and you can do it in 1 hour yourself, 2 hours if you replace the rotors too.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

How many hours would a shop charge to do the following:
1. install new brake pads and sensors (no bleeding of brake lines)?
2. install new clutch?
3. install new clutch and lightweight flywheel?
would like to know so I don't get raped going into some p-car service shop.
/P
I would say for the brakes 2-3 hours
Clutch can be done in 3-5 hours
Clutch and fly wheel 4-6 hours....
I am saying these times are being very very generous.
If you got to the dealer, you WILL be raped! However, stop by CVS or Walgreens on your way and get 2 tubes of K-Y and it won't hurt as much. Brakes are apiece of cake and you might consider doing them yourself. As for the clutch, $1500 - $2000 including stock clutch kit. Kit costs about $550, so labor is between $950 - 1450 depending on dealer.
Make sure you get the tube entitled '**** lube' and watch a showing of the film deliverance in advance
I have never changed brakes but on the basis of infomation on this board and renntech, i will give it a go for sure when mine need doing
Did my brakes recently in about 30-45 minutes all while listening to neighbor talk about how cool it was that I could change the pads on a car like this. They are very simple to do as 1999 said.
1) expect to be charged for 4 hours labour 1 hour per corner (on the high end) for replacing pads. DIY and you can do it in 1 hour yourself, 2 hours if you replace the rotors too. easy peasy.
2)3)expect 5~6 hours labour for clutch and flywheel. i paid for 6 hours which is average. since the tranny has to be dropped for the clutch the flywheel is exposed and is easily R&R'ed
dealers seem to charge more for the easy stuff and tend to be more honest for the hard stuff. e.g. 100+ oil change, 100+ for carbon air filter...
ok... thx guys....
thinking of a lightweight flywheel... I hear the steel flywheels are better than the aluminum ones.... I've heard of one guy who got an aluminum flywheel and couldn't stand the noise so he took it out... anybody in Toronto area want to show off their flywheel setup?
I have it , and i am in toronto but....I don't think I want to take out my tranny for you to have a look at a flywheel....All kidding....... aside this is a mod you MUST do , car feels so much more lively and really revs up and down much much faster.. I
i don't know about clutch and flywheels, but if they charge you more than one hour for changing pads, you have been had. i can do that in 50 min. flat. i dont' even have a lift and i can barely tell one end of screw driver from the other.
