Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

There is little to no difference in the plates, cases, seals, of electrolyte.
They're ranked by "group". Are we H6 or what? That group wasn't listed/tested.
I know we don't post copyrighted material but let's just say there are high rankings for Diehard, Interstate and Everstart. Dang those Everstarts are cheap. Less than a Hundie.
There was an Optima in 3rd place. a forum favorite, but expensive and requires retrofitting. Not the right size to drop right in.
I have an Interstate. They're based here and have their own stores so you pull up and they drop one in. Cool if you want to retrofit an optima but I'll save money and aggravation by just dropping in something that fits even if it weighs a little more.
I know this thread is about to get flooded with posts about Opti's that have lasted ten years. Live your life.
All those brand names are made by either Exide battery, or Johnson controls. Pretty much every 12V car battery in the US is made by three big companies. There is little to no difference in the plates, cases, seals, of electrolyte. A DieHard is an EverStart MAXX, etc.

Johnson Controls
Dec 12
Johnson Controls entered the battery business in 1978 upon acquiring Globe-Union Incorporated. Globe-Union was a Wisconsin based manufacture of Automotive batteries for both the replacement and OEM markets. Today, Johnson Controls is the largest producer of private label lead acid batteries in North America, and is becoming a leader in Asia and South America. In 2000 Johnson Controls acquired Gylling Optima Batteries AB of Sweden. The Optima Gel Battery is well known for its quality and longevity. Johnson Controls completed the acquisition of German automotive battery maker HOPPECKE Automotive GmbH & Co. The company has a excellent customer base that includes many of Europe’s leading auto manufacturers. Johnson Controls also produce batteries for other applications such as marine, lawn and garden, commercial, motorcycle, wheelchair, and golf cart use. Most consumers have no idea of the size of the battery giant. When people think of Johnson Controls, they think of thermostats for HVAC purposes not batteries. Johnson Controls is not only the largest North American battery manufacture, but they literally control the North American battery market.
