Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys, I'm getting some sort of fluid on the inside of all 4 rims. First thought was tire dressing but I quit useing it. The pic is fluid after about 100 miles. This is a 04 Carrera. Any ideas? Thanks so much.

POST 2Original post

Hmm. No pic, so WAG'ing. Brake fluid. WB grease. Trans, dif, or front dif fluid (AWD) Dog ****?

POST 3Original post

Rusty water from inside the vented rotors makes a brown stripe. Especially after washing the rims.

POST 4Original post

Didnt include that one because I was thinking most people know what water is but you never know. So to add to my list: Water. Liquid soap. Any type of animal urine. Maybe human urine.

POST 5Original post

You would think. But after it dries it just looks like a brown stripe. So maybe he didn't notice it right after washing while it was still wet?

POST 6Original post

I would vote for the rusty water from the rotors as well. The first time this happened to me I thought the car was losing oil...

POST 8Original post

After you wash your car, use your leaf blower to dry the wheels and calipers. No more dirty water dump. Great for the whole car, too.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you so much. You guys are right, it is from the rotors. I'll remember your tip also LexVan. Had me concerned......Good job boys!

POST 10Original post

Or just drive your Porsche after washing and be sure to apply your brakes...then your rotors will shine with no more rusty water issues.
