Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Bought a C4S that had HR sports installed over the stock US M030 struts.
Leading evidence: 'Install over the stock us m030 struts' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install over the stock us m030 struts' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I must say that when I originally got my 40th and read posts of current owners describing it is an SUV due to the ride height I thought they were mad. 1 year on and the gap between my tire and the wheel arch just looks goofy, I get it now.
Is there a good way to lower the M030 US spec suspension, i.e. H & R springs or adding ROW spec springs, without compromising the ride any more?
My one issue is that the roads here in the Midwest are crap (you need a rope to enter some of the potholes here), so I want to maintain as good a ride quality as possible.
I guess the best route will be new struts, but dont really want to splash another $3k on the car if I can help it.
I use it as a summer DD, with 2-3 DEs a year. Love getting on the track but need a car that doesnt crunch vertebrae during the daily drive.
Any experience or suggestions
A few things. Its allready lower than a C2 and has a better suspension. Its not a track car if you only DE a few times a year. You said its a DD mostly. I think it looks perfect as is.
IMO, H&R will give a slightly rougher ride and drop your car more than the ROW. ROW spec will probably be your best bet if you want to maintain the same ride quality you have now. I would contact Gert over at Carnewal for his reco as he's dealt with this and many other situations several times.
New struts aren't going to do anything for lowering but could give you a better ride if your current struts are worn.
The US M030 has the same spring rate as the ROW kit. The difference was the ROW has stiffer shocks and was about 1/2 inch lower. I'm not sure on the 40th, but you can measure the fender height as I remember the ROW height was about 26 inches floor to fender. So ROW springs would not hurt your ride.
The euro ROW M030 sounds like your best bet as others have said. I'd go with that, and the entire set-up (springs, shocks, sway bars) is only $1,200ish. A great deal IMO
Soon I'll be getting the same set-up
Agree, did some research myself, and eventually i will do that to my 40th AE car. The only thing is, i don't think you need to get the sway bars since you already have the same ones.
I went through the same thing last month. Bought a C4S that had HR sports installed over the stock US M030 struts. The stance was great. It did not look like it was bottomed out, gap was gone and it looked just right. Handling was very flat and competent. It was too low for my driveway and other areas I have to daily drive my car.
I bought a set of RoW M030 suspension kit (minus sways since they are the same) from Gert. It is more comfortable, handling is still great for daily driving in Denver and some mountain runs.
HOWEVER, handling is not as flat, it gets a little floaty at speed. The car does get a little light during higher speed cornering and if the road is not perfectly smooth.
At the end I am happy with the conversion as it fits what i need better but it is a compromise. I got the HR springs available if anyone wants them.
Cosmo, the cars "look" with even gaps at fenders may be your preference. I agree with you. However, if you were to install coilovers and then corner balance the car you wouldnt end up with even fender gaps front to rear. My car is on H&R coilovers and its sits very low (too low for most) but in order to get a near perfect corner balance we ended up with 25mm of rake. The car's cornering ability with this setup is phenominal.
