Just in case I have to remove a wheel/tire and the car is on uneven ground I can use the other jack as some kind of support.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looking at a multi week road trip
In a 2001 996 coupe with 25,000
Miles
I've got a spare tire/jack, and want to bring a couple spare parts which could fail
Anyone have a list ?
Not much luggage room to start with so I'm being conservative
Thanks in advance for any helpful contributions
Hmmm....
AAA card? Book on tape?
I've driven my 996 cross country before with nothing other than my luggage. Don't sweat it. Have it serviced and checked before your trip and enjoy the road.
My 2 cents: the issues that can derail your trip will probably require a flatbed. As already suggested, your insurance company's roadside assistance number is all that you should need. Have a safe and fun trip.
ignition switch, coolant cap, tire repair kit (to get you on your way till you can propperly fix tire)
If you have to put flat tire in car , where will you put it!!
bottled water for radiator.Code reader and list of codes printed up and in car.
Get codes from renntech.org (you need to be a member)
Appropriate assorted torx screw drivers/bits
Not since I gave up riding 2-stroke motorcycles have I carried any spare parts on trips. This goes for my Porsches.
Best thing you can do is know your car, know it has no issues, then head out. I get a car roadworthy inspected before heading out.
Be sure you have two credit cards (in case on gets compromised on the trip), paid up premium membership in a good auto club, and a cell phone with a good battery and a charger.
I do carry two scissors jacks. Just in case I have to remove a wheel/tire and the car is on uneven ground I can use the other jack as some kind of support.
Also, toss in a couple of 2x4 boards, 1 foot long, to use as chocks to the keep the car from rolling if you have to remove a rear wheel/tire on a hill.
The rest of the stuff I take is for a human (me) and not the car.
