I swear it seemed like my ABS was really kicking in fast and when the PSM would kick on while I was trying to correct it would feel like my car was running over a deep mud puddle or something.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'll say up front I don't yet have pics of me on the track but wanted to share my experience for those that are considering it.
First thing I'll say is if you are on the fence...get off and GO DO IT! Holy crap I have not stopped thinking about it since I finished up my last session. I am completely and totally hooked
I am also sore in places I didn't know you had muscles.
From reading the DE forum here I decided to try out my first few sessions with PSM on. I swear it seemed like my ABS was really kicking in fast and when the PSM would kick on while I was trying to correct it would feel like my car was running over a deep mud puddle or something. I did not like that feeling at all and it scared the crap out of me.
Between my 2nd and 3rd session I got to ride in a GT3RS with a very experienced driver which was a real eye opener. His line and his braking were amazing and the GT3 felt absolutely planted to the ground. I thought I liked the GT3 before but I had no clue what it was capable of. After that I rode with my instructor who is also a fantastic driver....but in my car...I was terrified
My third session was my best and I really got over the initial intimidation and fear, I turned off PSM, and I tried to follow a bit closer to the GT3RS's line and braking (as close as I could anyway). I got a ~1:37 at Harris Hill which I'm happy with for my first ever attempt at the track.
I will say that this wasn't a PCA DE and even though it was a DE there was still plenty of competition. That actually helped me quite a bit. My best lap was me chasing down someone in a Nismo Z. My favorite time was pushing a Camero enough to get waved by. The worst feeling was having to wave by a Mazda 3 (which was clearly modified, lol).
Anyway sorry for the wall of text...here are a few crappy pics:
Pic of my car and the high dollar numbers I spent so much time putting on
I rode in this GT3RS
LS7 in this little car sounded like serious business. Their website says it is the fastest street-legal car on the planet? I don't know anything about it.
There were 3 or 4 GT-Rs there
Oh i definitely need to improve my inputs
I'd prefer to do it without the help of PSM though. I'd hate to get real fast with PSM, try to turn it off, and be too fast to handle any mistakes.
Right now I'm not really going too fast to correct them.
I want to get back out there. No. I need to get back out there!
Who sponsored the DE? I've been dying to get back up there after attending the intro to the track event a few months ago that was put on by the PCA and the dealership.
H2R was my first experience on track, what an amazing time!
It was Velocity Adventures

I think it is time I learn about all of the road courses within driving distance from Austin and all of the events that are coming up. I've already fallen off the edge of the slippery slope and I'm well on my way to the bottom
Way to go! I kept my PSM on up until this year. PSM has saved my butt plenty while making me a smoother driver. Learning more with it off now. The PSM got me to that point. Glad you had fun......any pucker moments you care to share?
Pucker moments aplenty! The worst was riding with my instructor during his session in my car
The worst with me driving was at this turn they call Santa Rita (4 and 5)
It is an uphill climb up the straight into turn 4, then a quick dive back down into turn 5. I went into turn 4 too hot and was struggling really hard to keep the car under control but the *** started to come out. I was supposed to be getting ready for turn 5 which is scary enough as it is but it appeared I was going to be heading into the turn *** first. I was able to correct my slide at the expense of all of my speed. Santa Rita was scary in its own way every time I headed up there though.
Other than that I had a few moments where I either carried too much speed or just took an awful line and lost a lot of speed trying to correct it. But those were more embarrassing than scary.
Good to hear that you enjoyed your 1st of many DE's
Start looking into a weekend at TWS with LSRPCA and also the DFW area tracks with Maverick Region PCA. The TWS PCA event sell out in minutes, so plan ahead of time.
Nice to see another C4S doing track duty!! I've been doing it 9 years now, since the car was new.
If I may suggest, if the track is dry, use PSM nly on the first run, just to get your bearings. Concentrate on the line and the braking points, and smoothness. Then turn the PSM off fo all subsequent runs. This will force you to concentrate on the essentials rather than speed: the line, the braking points, and smoothness. That 4S can handle a lot more than you can dish out at this point in your DE. Speed will come naturally. Absolute fun and the thrill of accomplishment will follow!

tCrack days are what its all about to me. I bought my 4S to do exactly that. Sounds like you had a great experience. Good for you. Dont worry too much about the time and focus on what the car is telling you. The learning curve is steep the first few times out but once you have the apexes memorized and get a feel for the cars grip you be quicker.
Oh and about the PSM.... I turn it off before I leave the pits. PSM does some spooky stuff in these cars. The brakes will be applied in high speed turns when you least expect it. ( At least in my car) I ran wide twice at my home track due to this and told my self id never drive on track with it on.
When I was there they said that has happened twice, both by drivers trying to drive themselves out of trouble after going off. Good advise to come to a stop if you go off there. The run-offs are all grass so there's no risk of hitting a wall.
