Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looking at an early C2. Analysis shows high fuel % (dilution), but trending down (3+% to 0.5). Silicon spiked on this report, but no accompanying aluminum or other metals. Car drives and sounds fine. Should I be concerned? Couldnt find info on just elevated Silicon, or elevated Silicon post fuel dilution.

POST 2Original post

For high fuel dilution use the Redline SI-1 fuel system cleaner. It is by far the best product I have used and made a significant improvement in my fuel dilution readings. I was able to get it down from about 1.31 which was OK to .52 within a single OCI.

POST 3Original post

High fuel dilution can be due to leaky injectors, a lot of very short trips, backing the car out of the garage and then putting it back in, that sort of thing; any type of use that doesn't give the fuel time to evaporate out of the oil. It can contribute to washing down the cylinder walls and accelerating bore scoring. High silicon can be from RTV. Did someone R&R the sump or anything like that recently? It can also be from dust ingestion. Does the car have an aftermarket intake or air filter?
