Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

We weren't going that fast, but we entered a zone where the speed limit changed suddenly 10 MPH down.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I was on my way home, about 9:30 tonight. Driving along on a straight stretch of 4-lane rural highway, and there's a long down hill followed by gentle uphill, giving good visibility for about 2 miles.
It's raining lightly, and I'm watching the spray in my rear view mirror, and I say to myself, "I wonder if the spray will look different if the rear spoiler deploys?" So I speed up and pass a few cars in the other lane...
A half mile later, the highway comes into town, with a speed limit drop, and as I'm slowing down, I see the "dreaded lights" a few cars behind me. "Oops," I think.
I see the cop get around a car or 2, then, while I'm still watching in the mirror (and I'm still a little ways in front), the guy behind me pulls over and the cop pulls over behind him!
I can just imagine the conversation...
Cop: Do you know why I pulled you over?
Poor driver: I have no idea.
C: You had no idea you were doing xx MPH in the rain?!?
(insert speed of spoiler deployment here)
PD: Really? You thought I was going that fast? Are you sure it wasn't that irresponsible, a$$hole Porsche driver that sped past me?
C: Oh, maybe it was. Terribly sorry. Have a good night.
Or maybe he wasn't so lucky. But I know I was. So I'm off to bed before the law can track me down.
I was actually having a conversation with a buddy at lunch today about the spoiler deploy. We were wondering how many cops know it only deploys at 75mph
Driving on the Belt parkway (posted 50 mph) today and I see a 996 ahead of me with spoiler deployed. Bad Boy! (Mine was in business too)
Before that, I was heading home from Atlantic City and pulled into a rest stop on the Garden State Pkwy about forty miles north of AC. I pulled in right next to another green metallic cab. This one was a C4 mine is a C2. I never did see the owner. I wondered if he was a Rennlister. Probably not, because was still sporting pumpkins.
Nice.
It has happened to me on the toll roads here. I was in the right lane and a pickup was in the left lane. Cop was on the left shoulder. I was speeding a little but when my V1 kicked in, I slowed down. At that point, I was right beside the pickup, decelerating.
The cop pulled over the pickup while I wiped the doodoo off my seat.

Anyway, in the front of such a question, the answer should be : "Look at this button down in the left, right here, ..this is Manuel Spoiler On".
It is like in my old 911SC, in the trunk was a "sub box", where the AC (optional) would be mounted. P-Cars people used to say : To smugle stuff, i.e.: between France and Switzerland, which was a kind of standard sport, i.e.: butter, meat,..), this is the trick, ..but: You can't believe how many time I have been asked by custom officers, while crossing the border, to open this door to let them look at this "hidden" compartment !
..and this was well before Internet !!
Same thing happened to me - only it was my buddy that got the ticket.
We were heading to the track in a 2-car caravan. I was leading with the V1 on guard, and he was tailing me a few car lengths back. We weren't going that fast, but we entered a zone where the speed limit changed suddenly 10 MPH down. We came around a little bend and there was a state trooper gunning the unwary. Well, the V1 goes crazy and I know I'm tagged. But the trooper pulls out and chases down my buddy! I pull off at the next exit and wait for him.
I kinda felt bad, but I still chuckled a little bit

Years ago, I was with a bunch of friends caravanning to an autocross in Massachusetts. We were speeding a bit, and all of a sudden, a trooper with his lights on passes all of us. We're thinking, "Phew! He must be going after someone who was really going fast."
Well, he stops in the middle of the road, gets out and starts pointing all of us over to the shoulder.
Maybe he's still telling the story of when he pulled 6 Porsches over single-handedly!
Well I remember a lot of guy advising a nice guy on here to return a fancy suspension or pay the difference to the ebay dealer that shipped it. So since I didn't think he needed to pay the difference, this time I'm flip flopping. You should call the police and confess you were the speeder and save the other guy a typical ruination from being subjected to the abuse of the law. I'd go in with a baseball bat demanding justice for the poor guy that got pulled over but its too far of a drive
OR
The policeman having previously experiencing problems confusing carrera's with camaro's gave up and picked on somebody else.
OR
Your wing kicked up so much mist you were disappeared to the naked eye like being stealth. So when the vascar registered a speeder behind the mist the policeman took the only visible car appearing to be moving out.
OR the other guys bumper sticker set the guy off so he ticketed him
In short you are lucky hehehe Good deal. Keep up the good work using the mist like a smoke screen.
Hey guys, here's a tip for you... I noticed in the original story you mentioned that it was raining (you mentioned the spray coming up from the spoiler). Well, I'm NHTSA radar certified, been working the road for eight years, and I'll tell you, unless he's runner laser (and even then, I'd fight it) you have HUGE grounds to fight any tickets given to you from a radar gun. Why, you ask? Well, rain can affect the speed rating displayed by the radar gun. So, in fact, can the A/C within the cruiser. If you don't believe me, find a friendly cop, get into his cruiser, and turn on his front and rear mounted radar, then start playing with the A/C settings, and sit there amazed while the tree in front of you starts doing 23 mph. LOL Back when I was working in TN they actually directed us not to write speeding tickets in the rain, unless we'd been pacing the car in question (no tickets with radar/laser during rainy days).
Damn, I don't take the Porschse out if it is raining!
I've never seen nor experienced this. And I drive in toll-road-heaven. I remember this being a concern, and deterent, +12 years ago when Illinois started using I-Pass automated toll collection. People thought this would be used against them.
Interesting stuff.
I remember hearing a few years ago that in NY the state troopers lobbied for legislation to make EZ-pass speed tracking illegal - on the grounds that it would reduce their job function. That might be an urban legend, but I've never heard of anyone getting a ticket because of automated toll-booth calculations.
