Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, I have had many 996's and done lots to them. But I have to say that the combination of two mods really are great. At least I think so. I did the Clutch Assistance Spring removal and liked the results. I just did a Short Shifter and the combo of the two is perfect! Crisp clean shifting same place every time and didn't cost much to do. Just figured I would share my .02

POST 2Original post

+1....have not done the spring removal yet but makes complete sense. The SSK is great alone in its own right. Lock and load feel. I need to do the spring DIY.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had never heard about the Spring mod until a few months back. Did it first and liked it. DO a SSK and you will be in love

POST 4Original post

i have heard in the 99's with the drive by wire that the clutch mechanism feels loose when you take the spring out, so i have been hesitant to do so..
