They recommended new tires and a 4 wheel alignment.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well, I did it. I picked up a '00 C2 a few months ago and I've been smiling ever since. I've always wanted to own a Porsche, but didn't want to break the bank to get one. I basically looked online at local cars for about a week, and ended up falling in love with this one as soon as I saw her. She is a 6-spd with PSM, 18" wheels, power seats and had just over 51,000 km (Canadian car) when I got it. The funny thing is, I swore I would never buy another black car, but it looks so good all cleaned up.
The down side is I am the fourth owner and there is no service history. The good news is that everything works, and there are absolutely no leaks of any kind. I'm not about to start worrying about anything failing or breaking on the car. This is bascally a weekend toy (to go with my other toys) that I want to "drive". And so far, it's been a pleasure to own and lots of fun to drive.
At this point the only mod I think I want to do is lower the suspension. I may run into issues getting into my driveway, but I love the look of a lowered car.
There's lots of good info here on suggestions for that. Until then, can you see me smiling.
Very nice Aero, low miles(km). Did you do a PPI with your purchase? I still have orange/black and I like it that way. Welcome to Rennlist...and be sure to wipe that smile off your face.
Looks great. I'd have a hard time dealing with not taking off fast from your area since its so wide open and the car really needs to be warmed up before blasting the oil pressure up.
Great looking car and take care.
Thank's for the comments guys. I really should have had some kind of inspection done on the car just for peace of mind, but I tend to be somewhat impatient when I get an idea in my head. I'm going to the Porsche dealer for an oil change next week, is there anything else I should have them look at considering the age and milage on the car?
We have a big group drive to the mountains planned for tomorrow. There will be at least three P cars, two ferraris and a lotus (Esprit V8). We did one of these several weeks ago, and it was one of the best driving days of my life. I sure hope the police are taking a day off.
The sad part is that it will soon be winter in this part of the world, so I hope to drive it as much as I can before having to put it away until spring.
Great other car too. One of the euro sunday guys over here has a turboed SL or whatever it is. The way the hood mates to the front would have me double checking the hood is latched all the time but eh. Great power in the car he has for sure.
PS I preceived if a wife ever starts saying you have to get rid of one of the cars its a fact the new cadilac horod is better than the lower issue SL. Would help being nice and saying ok honey I'll get a cadilac both of us can drive for family outings and such. You can probably find youtube video of it racing the nurburgring.
Well, my first dealership oil change experience was relatively painless. They charged $200 (Canadian) which is actually about $100 cheaper than the Benz (thought it would be more). They made a comment on the work order that I am not using "Porsche Approved" tires and there is some excessive wear on the inside of the rear tires.
They recommended new tires and a 4 wheel alignment. They also provided a quote for Pirelli P-Zero Rosso and Michelin PS2 tires. Not much price difference between the two, but does anyone have any comments regarding tires? I'm not going to do anything right away because I would like to burn off the rest of the rubber on a track day.
HAHAHA. Actually she did give me grief about getting rid of a car some time ago so I threatened to sell the SLK. Well, she loves driving that car so she dropped the subject in a hurry.
Search for tires on here and you'll find 100 opinions/reviews. From reading on here, the Michelin N-spec tires are regarded as the gold standard, but they are pricey.
From reading on here and reviews at the Tire Rack, I decided on the Sumitomo HTR ZIII (not the ZII, but they have gotten decent reviews as well) - they are said to offer 90% of the Michelin's performance but cost less than half as much. I have been very happy with them, but I have not tracked my car. I read that on the track the difference between the two shows up the most.
Very nice, if your looking to lower the car...try either coilovers so you can adjust the hieght or get a set of champion motorsport springs, its less of a drop than the H&Rs, I had to get these since I have about 5 speeds bumps to crawl over before reaching my driveway.
Keep the ambers(pumpkins)....
