Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Just 2 torx 20 screws for each condensor, then swing out of the way, and support to clean between.

When I got the car a year ago, the PPI mentioned they needed cleaning--didn't realize exactly what that meant until I saw some other pictures here and on Renntech.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.
0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

When I got the car a year ago, the PPI mentioned they needed cleaning--didn't realize exactly what that meant until I saw some other pictures here and on Renntech. Looking at the fasteners, I don't think the front end had ever been apart.
Got out what I could with a soft bristle brush (toothbrush-sized) and a vacuum. Then I used a water hose to rinse out the rest. Not 100%, but the caked-in crud washed away pretty well.
The drip pans underneath the radiators were clogged with debris on both sides, too. I used a long, thin screwdriver to scrape them out.
My shop made reference to "blowing them out" with compressed air, but I don't have a big compressor anymore.
I read that too, but on my C4S there were four T25 screws. And once they were removed the condensor has about 2" of movement to get between it and the radiator, but nothing so convenient as swinging out of the way.
Compared to this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Um-h2aUJHY4
there are a lot of differences between what they show on their early car and what I found.
I did this job on my 2003 C2 last week. Removed about 2 dustpans full of dirt, leaves, feathers, cig butts, gravel, etc. Car was not running hot or anything before, but still it's nice to know they are clean now. Plan on 2 hours if working alone.
