Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm about to buy a set of OEM 18" wheels, but just want to check with this group that I'll be good to go before pulling the trigger.

In his initial post he stated that he was planning on running 285 on the rear.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm about to buy a set of OEM 18" wheels, but just want to check with this group that I'll be good to go before pulling the trigger. And yes, I've searched the forums already, just need a quick go/no-go from the experts...
I have an '01 C2, lowered on PSS9's and 18" BBS RS-GT 8"/10" wide rims for the street. I am about to buy some wheels to use as dedicated track wheels/tires. They are the thin 5-spoke design, 18" rim, 8" wide front, 10" wide rear. Offset is 50 et front and 47 et rear. I am planning to put Toyo R888's on them, 225 and 285, respectively.
Will these fit and if so, is this a good set up for the track?
Many thanks in advance.
No problem with the fronts, but I'm not sure about the rears. You may need to roll the rear fenders to fit them. Check to see what your offsets on your current wheels are as a starter.
Offset on the BBS RS-GT's is 50 et front, 65 et rear. Does that mean the new rear wheels will be tucked in further since they are 47 et rear? I just used an offset calculator and it's telling me the rear will stick out 18mm MORE. Is that right? I would've thought just the opposite.
That is correct, they will stick out more.
Because of the 18mm change in offset the wheel shifts out further. You alsl get 18 mm of inner clearance.
Offset definition from 1010tires.com
Therefore, a 65mm offset is further into the wheel well, while the 47mm will push the outer edge of the wheel further out.
47mm offset will fit but be wary or tire width and camber settings, there are quite a few factors to play with. The lower you go, numbers wise, the further the wheel will stick out.
Those would be somewhere between wide and narrow offsets. The rear can "fit" but they will be really pushing the edge. Another way to look at this would be to imagine adding a 3mm spacer to the GT3 rear wheel. What kind of rear camber are you running? What size tire do you plan on running?
Good morning, Dell!
Maybe you need to finish your first cup of coffee before you read RL.

OK, here is my two cents worth. The 47 rears are not the right size for a NB. Based on my experience you are likely to have rubbing issues. It does depend on the tire size/profile, but I had some with a 52 offset and had rubbing issues even after rolling the fenders. Now I was running 264/40-18's so the profile of the tires was different than a 285/30-18, but they were also 5mm further in.
My advice, buy wheels that were designed for a NB!
