Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

For a 996.2, who has changed to this set up? It seems like a good price at $1,149 which includes springs, damper, and sways. Any feedback from people who have used this vs. the stock suspension would be helpful.

POST 2Original post

Good question as I am wondering the same thing.

POST 3Original post

it depends on what you want to do with the car.... ROW is better than stock, ride height is corrected from the altered US spec which was only for bumper impact requirements and not ever designed into the car except as an afterthought. Still I read a lot about it and almost pulled the trigger myself. You should just read opinions (they are all over the board) and come to your own conclusion based on what YOU want. I descided not to go with ROW and instead went with Eibach springs and new shocks. My car is slightly lower than ROW but not "LOW" the ride is awesome and it was a good fit for me for the money. A friend from here contacted me yesterday and got ahold of a set of H&R springs that he plans to install. Last to confuse things more, coilovers offer the best performance and set up options. There range from PSS9, PSS10, GT3 and a couple other MGF names I dont recall right now. Best I can say is spend some time searching and reading....There are also ways to make sure you know what you have based on the color rings painted on the springs (I know someone who has an ROW sitting in his garage that went to install it last weekend and discovered he already has ROW??) BTW - that set will be for sale I bet real soon So you have to descide what "better" means to you, then find the set up that fits your dirrection. Sorry I dont have a handful of links for you to read, but trust me, some quick searching and you will find plenty! GL and post what you find and the new questions you encounter

POST 4Original post

I have this suspension and it is wonderful. It completely eliminated the stock front end 'float' at speed and really settled down the car. Less body roll, etc. all contributes to a vastly improved ride. I was prepared to suffer a more jarring ride, but that is not the case w/ mine - it is even more of a daily driver than w/ the stock suspension. I guess the only downside is lower ride height, but I simply slow down more over bumps (I've also installed a front splitter along w/ the OEM wing so my front bumber sits even lower). Remember, this is the factory suspension the 911 was delivered with everywhere in the world except the US and there's something to be said for a factory tuned set up. Your best bet is to do some test drives w/ the setups you're considering and decide for yourself. I did my own research, selected ROW M030 and have never regretted it - of all the mods I've done this is the best for me.

POST 6Original post

Thanks Ed for bringing this up. I am the one with a brand new ROW M030 kit sitting in the garage after I found that my 99 already came with ROW. With that said though, the set is for a 99-01 MKI C2 coupe. Is there a difference between MKI and MKII? I should have realized mine was a ROW when it was almost an inch lower than a Cabriolet that was next to it at the dealer's lot..

POST 8Original post

I take it Ed has a habit of doing this... HAHA, it was me... Now I am about to order a 997 shifter, and should probably check what came with the car. don't want to hijack this thread further, back to ROW M030 talk.. Difference btwn MKI and MKII M030?

POST 9Original post

ZMonsta, let me know if you are selling you extra M030 susp. Is it new? It is different for MkI vs. MKII

I didnt rat anyone out, just said I know of someone hope you are not mad about that Anyhow my point was if they want an ROW there might be a guy willing to sell a brand new set soon. Plus do your homework or end up with a GT2 wing and a Turbo Exhaust in your garage (like me)

POST 13Original post

Nah Ed, that was sincere thanks! I likely would have been too lazy to post it up.. like I've been too lazy to post pics up of my 99. Look forward to seeing your ride!

POST 16Original post

Oh man! Now I'm getting it from Tim too.. So I tried to find the pics from the dealer I bought it from (Redmond Auto Center, stand up guys and their asking price is close to private sale prices!). and dang it, they took down the ad already (I knew it was still up earlier this week). Now I gotta go take my own pics to post. Before I do that I gotta wash it.. Hope to get it posted this wknd.. Ed, I noticed you got the GT3 Sways from Cway27! sweet deal man! I pinged him too late... good to see a local got them though!

POST 17Original post

Quotes source post: 7114668

my car arrived (to me) with the RoW M30 set -up and I must say it was OKAY at best. On the street it was fine for day to day activities... But, Not worth the trouble for even casual track usage. If you are looking for a OEM set-up give GERT a call and put the X74 kit into the car. It will transform the car on the track and still be drivable to work. Now.. that said if you really want to go all out track then open the bank account and take your pick from PSS9, 10, JRZ, Moton, Etc.

POST 18Original post

I've got a ROW 030 on a 2002 C2 coupe and I love it. I hated the original stock suspension. I like the new ride height because the original suspension had the front end up in the air. The stiffness is just right for me. I don't track the car but I do push it pretty hard on the street sometimes. Also, this car is my daily driver. I feel like this is the suspension that the car should have come with from the factory. b-man

POST 19Original post

I have a 2002 C2 coupe also and have been thinking about the ROW 030, did you keep the sway bars with the ROW030 or would you suggest changing to H&R instead? I was also thinking of PSS9 or PSS10 with H&R sway bars. Thanks for the info

POST 20Original post

I think the moral of the story here is..... What do you want out of the car? DD, DE, dedicated track.... etc. And where are the pics from these newbies? gotta know tradition around here.....

POST 21Original post

I bought my 2004 C2 with the M030. It's definitely stiffer than the stock cars that I test drove, and obviously quite a bit lower. I've been very happy with it for the month I've owned the car. It corners very flat, and I think the damping is excellent. While it's stiff, there is never any crashing, even over the potholes I can't avoid. What's most impressive to me is that the car stays controlled all the way through the travel. In my old car, if you compressed the suspension too much, it would jar the whole car. Maybe it was hitting bump stops, not sure. Also, the car definitely likes to follow pavement grooves and crowning, that's probably tires though. I can't comment on the track, this is strictly a road car.

POST 22Original post

Quotes source post: 7125689

I used the ROW M030 sway bars. I have no experience with the H&R's so I can't say. I researched this suspension issue a lot. But, it's all very subjective. That being said, I got lucky and guessed right. I'm very happy with my setup. b-man

POST 23Original post

Does anyone know if the M030 can be used on both the C2 and C4.......or is it specific to each. Looking at buying the one that is mentioned on this post.

POST 24Original post

Quotes source post: 7134341

the C2 & C4 use different springs rates and thus will have seperate part numbers. Go over to the renntech site and check there. you will be able to find what you need from doing a forum search or ask Loren if he can getyou the specific part number.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
