Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Performed · outcome unconfirmed
(I used the battery & jumper cable trick a while ago. It worked surprisingly well)
Outcome qualification: Negation, uncertainty or missing explicit repair resolution overrides the raw extraction signal.

For the record it's all written up inside your owners manual and of course next time you'll replace your battery before it fails, ie when the motor starts cranking slowly.
Leading evidence: 'Use battery & jumper cable trick a while ago' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace battery' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Sounds like you were trying to use a battery charger instead of an actual battery.

You can also charge the battery using the cigarette lighter socket, I believe it's on a 5-amp fuse, so I wouldn't push too much current through it.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My battery is dead and don't know how to open the trunk to get acces to charge it. Could anyone help me please?? This is the problem with this modern car, I never had that problem with my 911S
thanks
Careful here guys. Over at the Pelican air cooled board they were having a laugh at some Boxster owner who couldn't figure it out.
Lot's of comments about they guy being upset because he couldn't get at the panties he'd left in the trunk.

I tried the procedure mentioned about, but...nothing.
Is there any other war to go about this. What could be wrong here? When I conect the negative of the battery charger to ground, after connecting the possitive to the connector on the fuse box, I can hear a click (like a small relay engaging) but then when i pull on the engine lid switch nothing happens.
Any ideas?
try 2 people... one on the hood - one on the switch, maybe with a little push down or slight (very gentle) lifting it will work ?
that would indicate a latch problem IIRC
Ivangene,
I finally found the cable under the rear left wheel well and I was ablw to opn the engine lid. I was a little bit tricky, but I finally found it.
Thanks to all for your help...now battery is charging.
You need a good battery and some wires with clips. Works well.
The procedure is in the manual and in the cover over the fuse box, drives side foot well.
But if the battery has even a little bit of life left in it, you can open the hood with the button.
Don't ask me how I know all of this.

You can also charge the battery using the cigarette lighter socket, I believe it's on a 5-amp fuse, so I wouldn't push too much current through it. I've done this before when I forgot to hookup the trickle charger.
