Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Use ones' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Repair kit' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

If it were me and it was because I had a bleeder screw break, just get a repair kit.

It leaks through the nipple not the threads after replacing with an OEM valve.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I need to replace a caliber due to a brake bleeder valve rusting out and a replacement valve leaks (so I had to put back in the rusted valve for now). As a result I need to replace the caliper. I was searching on part #s and it looks like these are for 996 series:
part #s from dcuauto
However, it's unclear to me if I can use any of them or only the ones for a C4 2002 (my model/year). I thought I read all calipers are the same size but perhaps different colors. DC Auto has red in stock so I may get a pair of those if I can confirm they'll fit. My car came with the silver colored ones. I would not change to PCCB.
Thanks,
The red will be from a Boxster s and the last 2 numbers will be 11. If you want the same color as your c4 then get the ones ending in 22. Black are 01.
If it were me and it was because I had a bleeder screw break, just get a repair kit.

I tried a replacement OEM brake bleeder valve I got from the dealer. The current one has rust build up on the inside near the holes at the bottom of the valve. I think it is compromised on the inside where it seats because when I put in the new bleed screw it continues to keep bleeding through the bleeder hole (not the threads).. When I put back in the original it stops leaking. So the original rusted one is in for now. I want to get this fixed because I'm worried the next time I bleed my brakes it may get completely compromised and not stop bleeding at that time. I actually discovered the issue with my most recent brake bleed.

and

look like the C4S came with Red as well. DC Auto currently has these in stock.
I don't care on the color. As long as the red work I may get them because they are in stock right now. I'd get silver if they were in stock or if I can find them elsewhere.
Sounds like any will work though, correct?
Your piston sizes are 36.40 and 28.30 regardless of C4 or not. Only the turbos and GT variants had different calipers. Also please do not throw away that caliper! Id be interested in buying it
I should have been more clear. The part numbers are
99635142501 left and 99635142601 right. The last two numbers are the different colors. Unless you have a C4S the C4S brakes will not work. Different carrier and disc.
Edit: You are much better off trying to resolve the problem with your current caliper rather than buying unknown condition of used ones. But if you do I would offer them for sale, I'm sure they would be good use to someone.
I don't mind trying to fix it. I read though if a new valve doesn't work that you have to purchase a new caliper, but maybe that's wrong? Can you point me to some how-to for how I would fix the bleeder valve from leaking after replaced? It leaks through the nipple not the threads after replacing with an OEM valve.
I sent you a link on the repair kit. I broke off a bleeder screw and extracted it then drilled and tapped with a new hole. This is a track only car and it's been there for about 40 track days with no issue. It is a smaller fitting so need a different wrench when bleeding.
Did the two screws look different? The seat would have to have a different shape to allow fluid to pass up to the holes. When you loosen the rusted one does it bleed normally?
This kit creates a new seat with a smaller blead screw.

You need this tap.

They looked the same to me with the exception that the rusted one had rust build up stuck to the bottom of the valve plugging up one of the holes.
I'd have to look closer if they were the exact same, but I assumed the OEM part was.
Currently yes, that's how I discovered the rusty valve.
Ahh, this might be the route I need to go.
I remember one rebuild I had I could not get it to seat correctly. Ended up finding the smallest piece of dirt/sand on the bottom of the bleeder valve seat. Cleaned it up and worked fine. Tap has also worked before!
