Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just had the 80k service done at Porsche Melbourne -- I had asked for the Radio Code to be provided. The technician gave me the code -- eda4f7f2eefcae8b -- and he said it could not be entered without the systems tester. He said the "usual code" was not available -- said if I ever needed it entered they would do it FOC so it seems not to be a ploy for more work -- he said "that is what the factory entered for your car, sorry, can't do anything about it" Can that be right?

POST 2Original post

No, not a chance, Codes are 4 digit and numeric only.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Marc -- could it be 4628? Also -- have done a search -- and it seems I can ask for the code -- from anther site -- will try that

Probably. They are probably trying to make money off of you.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

ok -- thanks for the replies but as is the rule (the one I did not follow) I should have done a search 1st. A search here found a referral to RenTech -- where Loren advises: "A CDR-23 does not need a code. The code is registered in the DME - so as long as the same radio stays with the same car no action is needed. If the radio were to be replaced then the DME would need to be updated to the new radio." and -- I do have a CDR-23 So -- perhaps my Tech did not know the quirk with the CDR-23 -- and the code is what he says and it is what the radio "says" to the DME when they are reuinted after a blackout. I will disconnet the battery and will see and will report back here -- but only when I am next to go near to the dealer -- in a few weeks time. Thanks again

POST 7Original post

That is the Radio's internal serial number, not the security code.

POST 8Original post

I was going to ask the year of your car but I see you've already discovered that you have a MOST radio and those don't use the 4-digit codes.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
