Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm absolutely in love with the look of the Sport Techno wheels. I've heard that they fit on a 996 C4S but only with spacers on the rear. Also, some folks have said they wouldn't fit wheels that need spacers. Now, I intend to drive my car on the street most of the time, with the occasional Autocross or Driving Event. In your opinion, would the Sport Technos be OK?

POST 2Original post

Were the Sport Techno's not an option for the C4S? Why would they need spacers?

POST 3Original post

With 10" rears, you'll need spacer on a wide body C4S. The stock setup has spacers I belive if yours are 10" instead of 11". There are good deals on eBay on the Techno. I've seen chrome, silver, silver & black. So far, silver and black is my fav color but they are rare. You may need to custom paint the black areas on a silver.

POST 4Original post

I have an '03 C4S with Sport Technos and can verify that they certainly do have spacers on the back, but not the front wheels. I have to remove the spacers every winter when I put the snow wheels and tires on and put on wider 17 mm spacers so that the narrower snow wheels fit correctly.

POST 5Original post

I have sport technos with 11" rears made for a narrow body 996 (99). no spacers.

POST 6Original post

You are all almost right, the stock offset on the rears is 45, the technos are 63. When mounted on a C4S they do indeed use a 17mm spacer. Thus, technos will fit a NB w/o spacers while the stock C4S wheels don't have them, due to the offset. The fronts have no need of a spacer.
