Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

needed a new set of bridge stone potanza for the rear of my car. Ordered them from the local shop (I like to buy local and keep my money here as much as I can) We ordered the exact tire and model on the car and the tread pattern doesnt match and get this: The two tires I ordered are the EXACT SAME TIRE AND SIZE.. But the tire shape is different. One tire has more rubber on the ground than the other due to the outter wall curve.. WTF????. So I agreed to live with the tread differance.. amd they ordered me tires that at least match in width. I have run into this a few times with tires. Especially since I wear a 1:3 ratio on front to rears.

POST 2Original post

you should rotate your tires more often to get better life otta them

POST 3Original post

Did you check the weight ratings? This is actually more important that the thread matching. You want the load carrying capacity, stiffness, diameter, rolling resistance, rubber compound to match. I think I'd want a match in every respect, at least on the same axle. I've mixed brands from front to rear without question which goes against some peoples comfort level.

POST 4Original post

Possibly it was a difference in which countries the tires came from. I'd contact the seller and manufacturer since maybe the seller is supposed to know better than to mix runs of tires. Manufacturers will change things around between different manufacturing runs of tire like mix of rubber and molding but the seller should at least be sensible enough to do what happened to you.

POST 5Original post

I'm sorry to hear they didn't get you what you wanted. In many cases there are several models of the same tire, and sizing within them can be different. Bridgestone is a great example with some of their Re050 tires. There can be sometimes 5 models of the same tire available in the same size. Questions have to be asked in order to make sure you get exactly what you are replacing. Please give me a call if I can help.
