Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, Does anyone have cast rims on their 911 996? Do they bend, ride smooth, gave you issues tell me how is the quality on a cast wheel vs aluminum alloy or cast vs. forged. Cast seem cheap for price. Would you recommend taking these on a track or are they more for just the street? Here is a link: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand

POST 2Original post

Can't answer your specific questions, but I have dealt numerous times with Tirerack for tires. They are somewhat heavy at 24#s and 27#s, but that may not be important to you. The prices are more than reasonable though.

POST 3Original post

Airrik - Please give me a call, I'd be happy to answer all of your questions. Thanks.

POST 4Original post

All Porsche factory wheels are cast of aluminum alloy. Forged is lighter, stronger and more $$$

POST 5Original post

I purchased these wheels from Tire Rack this past winter with Continental DWS tires mounted. After ca. 6000 mis. everything remains like new. No info on track durabilty of the wheels, but I rate the combination great for every day driving.

All stock 996 wheels are cast and can be cracked with much less effort than the early porsche five spoke Fuchs which are forged and very tough. 1st pic 18 x 10" crack manifested as vibration while driving on highway. 2nd pick is of 7 & 8 x 16" Fuchs no cracks
