Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thinking of replacing my current top (which is in great shape but hate the plastic window) with the glass window option that GAHH sells. One of your local guys did it recently and plan to check his out next time we meet up. Looking for any input from those of y'all with experience dealing with GAHH. TIA!

POST 2Original post

I upgraded to a glass top GAHH top on my wife's Boxster. And I truly mean upgraded. Not only do I find he canvas top notch but in the case of the Boxster the lines are ever-so slightly harder and it gives the car a little more aggressive profile as you can see in the pictures they provide. Going on 3 years later and the top still looks great. Not sure if this is the case with the 996s, but with the Boxster the move from a plastic to glass window necessitates a smaller window, which again, I think looks great. Be interested to hear if the smaller size window is also true on the 996.

POST 3Original post

I recently did a new GAHH top, but plastic window not glass on my 996. The glass window is indeed smaller, it has to be, the plastic window folds when it is put down. So I can't speak to the glass, but the top itself is top rate. Very good quality.

POST 4Original post

http://www.turnerupholstery.com/aboutus.aspx did mine in Kansas City a few summers ago. Be aware the window height is much smaller than the original plastic window. Also, even after two years, the canvas hasn't learned to fold quite right when opening up the top. The most important thing is to assure the plastic hinge protector is installed. Mine wasn't, and after a few open and shuts, it created a small tear. Good quality. I'm satisfied w/ the product.

POST 5Original post

I had the GAHH glass top in my old 986S, no complaints

POST 6Original post

Dell, We used to use GAHH for all the replacements of cab tops when I owned Exclusive. In fact, that's what's on our cab right now. Top notch quality, fit and finish. Can't speak for the upgrade to glass from plastic (not an option on 993 and older, which was our market), but no complaints of quality. However...make sure you find someone that knows how to install it right, and re-syncronize the motors. That is key.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for all the replies. I'll probably go with the GAHH top.
