Interestingly, felt a little slow when I first picked it up, perked back up after the freshly reset computer became reacquainted with my lead foot.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The CPO portion of my warranty runs out this Sunday, so I dropped my car off at the dealer to see what we could get fixed. It's a new service location (Jack Daniels in NJ, used to be serviced at Prestige then Jack Daniels in NY, but they brought the Master Tech and one of the other very good techs from Nanuet down to NJ)
When I did brakes recently I noticed some caked oil at the variocam actuators on both sides of the motor. Not enough to hit the garage floor, but definitely oil leaking. Strangely enough the oil is leaking straight through the actuators, not the seals. So two new variocam parts going into the car.
I got a whole new set of coils and plugs, as I was getting the beginnings of a misfire problem again at idle when wet. The reason I bring this up was because we did all the coil packs (updated p/n) two years ago under warranty, and they were already beginning to fail again, little cracks in two packs much to my surprise and the tech's. Needed new plugs in a few thousand miles anyway, so that was a nice surprise.
Also fixing a couple of little things:
- trunk wasn't popping up when triggered, fixed the buffers,
- battery died over the winter, so some of the dealer programmed features had to be reprogrammed
- little rattles etc.
Trans, rear main seal dry as a bone, so that's good.
I have to wait until tomorrow for the actuators, so if there's anything else anyone can think of me getting checked out for warranty please let me know.
yours is a variocan plus right?
the variocam (3.4 5 chain) is a much more involved job than the actuators on the PLUS (3 chain)
sounds like the CPO was really a worthwhile investment for you and you should be set!

???
what do you mean by 'trunk wasn't popping up when triggered, fixed the buffers'
I am curious to know how to fix that 'buffer' problem
Right now when I open my trunk I have to put my finger under the hood near the headlight gap, or I can't grasp the trunk.
Unless you purchase your Pcar and let it sit (rot) in your garage, you will most likely get good use out of the CPO.
The dealer has already replaced my RMS free of charge and I had them install a new clutch kit from Sunset when the put it back together.
Cost to me? only the clutch kit.
Then the oil pressure sensor/switch went bad, in and out with $0 invoice.
Collant cap leaked, new one replaced under warranty.
Been good to me.
Good call on AOS Ferd, called over they said OK checking it out. Filler tube was a little creamy over the winter (figured short trips in the cold wet) so it's a good enough reason to take a look and get in any last licks.
yes variocam plus, very simple on the plus motors, easy to see as well. Ed we're thinking alike, we recalibrated sunroof and windows yesterday, all's well with the fans, did not ask about the LCDs so I've asked.
I honestly don't know what was involved in the fix, I will ask when I pick the car up but if you need quicker answer I am certain Loren has the answer at his fingertips
Warranty and CPO in general were worth it for me. When I bought my car in 07 I didn't pay a huge premium at all for CPO. Honestly nothing major went wrong with the car at all, I've had a lot of little things which I would have fixed myself get done for free, which was nice. If you tally all the labor I definitely tripled my premium in work, but since I probably wouldn't have paid for most of the labor and might not have fixed most of the tiniest issues, I probably broke even on parts. Actually I forgot that I got a set of cats and O2s, so I probably doubled my investment if that wasn't covered by federal emissions warranty.
The real bonus was peace of mind. I knew that I would have a few years to drive the hell out of the car and see if it was a good car or a problem car. To date, I haven't had a drop of oil hit the floor, my coolant leak was a faulty $20 elbow, and I didn't waste any money violating my warranty with certain initially tempting mods. Aside from the cats, nothing expensive and mandatory failed, although I am thankful I didn't have to do coilpacks twice on my own, or trans/engine mounts. All cheap parts and doable, but a pain. Due to CPO, I had new brakes and the 40K service done before I piked up the car (I had new tires as well, but they seem to have disappeared from the garage in LA). With plugs, oil and brakes all done in the last 500 miles, I think my 60K service is mostly out of the way as well. My total cost of ownership has been practically nothing, and I've been hitting 7200 rpm 5 to 10 times a day pretty much year round. If that didn't break the car, I'm not sure anything will, so I think I'm gonna keep her!
Nothing to add on the service front, just good news about Jack Daniel's service dep't and warranty claims. I bought my CPO Turbo from JD back in January.
I was initially not going to bring it there given my previous experiences with their audi service, however when I was told that they brought the team down from prestige I was OK with it, since they are a well qualified team and have been doing all my warranty work since 08. The new service location opens next month in upper saddle river
The 'buffers' are the rubber bumpers screwed into the hood (look at each corner); you can lengthen or shorten them by screwing them in out out of the hood. This effects the amount the hood pops
up
when the trunk latch is actuated.
HTH
SH beat me to it , buffers are as described. I'd like to report that the car is back in my devious hands and runs just as well at idle as it does at a buck twenty. AOS was fine. LCDs are OK to my eye will look with a bright light in the sunlight tomorrow. New coil packs (second set in as many years) on both sides, new plugs, new variocam hydraulic actuators, seals, etc on both sides, a few odds and ends. They forgot to charge me for the plugs, but I insisted, with PCA discount + tax came to 55 bucks, Joe the service writer there is a good guy. Interestingly, felt a little slow when I first picked it up, perked back up after the freshly reset computer became reacquainted with my lead foot. E-gas i guess.
