Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Logic would tell me that since I'm close to needing to replace the rear tires that they would be the culprit.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So, over the past couple of days I've noticed a vibration that wasn't there before. It is at speeds 45mph+. Logic would tell me that since I'm close to needing to replace the rear tires that they would be the culprit. However, I feel it more from the motor. It's not however causing the needle of the tach to jump around. It's more apparent at decelleration w/o braking, say coasting from 65-55mph. My other inclination would be that it is a coil pack that has become loose or cracked and is causing a misfire that is not apparent enough to throw a CEL. I'm at 40k. Any thoughts or experience you guys might have would be appreciated. Thanks.
jack up the car with the wheels on it and try to shake them side to side and feel how much bearing play you have. That was causing it on my 944. Not sure if this will apply to your car, but it could still spotlight a problem.
I don't play craps but its seems kind of like it not being able to know the outcome till it's done. You're right about tires being near toast a good possibility. Weights at start don't balance near the end wears I figure plus the odd wearing like cupping can vibrate. I'd just dump the tires for the first trouble shooting. If its the tires it might be best to get rid of the shaking as soon as possible. I don't think the trans and other parts need any extra wear it might cause. It's not sex
I dont get it?
where did this fit into that statement......
when you have the new tires installed make sure to have the wheels check for trueness.... that is another thing that will cause issues -
back to my OP, issolate the trans from the wheels turning first......
Thanks for the advice to everyone that responded. As ivangene suggested, I dropped the clutch and coasted to see if the vibration was still present when the motor was disengaged. In fact it was. So, this leads me to believe that it is the tires. They're at around 4/32's, so I was trying to hold out as long as possible before swapping them out. These PS2's are not economically priced. Doesn't Michelin read the papers? As soon as the fronts are toast, which should be about the same time as the new rears I'm going to Sumi's, they make my wallet feel heavier.
