Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
Although there are many opinions on shock mounts whether to install camber plates or keep the stock rubber mounts, of course depending on how you will use your car.
Leading evidence: 'Use car' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use car' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Folks,
I hate that high height, soft and bumpy suspension on the front. Are all US P-cars like that or is it only the 4S that has been so poorly setup ???
My wife rides it as much as I do, and she doesn't want the car to be a bone breaker so forget about the PSS programs and other H&R solutions I think.
How about putting a pair of OE European dampers and springs on the front, is it something you guys do ?
Thanks !
Luc
The PSS10 setup is not jarring at all, in fact I think its more compliant than stock; its also adjustable for height and firmness. Try to take a ride in a 996 with the setups you are considering before you make up your mind.
There are threads that discuss your similar decision making process as well.
Here is one.
Can't add much to this . ..
I had the same original experience as the OP. Perhaps the suspension was aging on my used C4S, but I (and my wife) found it jarring. I went with PSS10s, and even at full stiffness position they were more comfortable than the stock. You still notice very seam in the pavement, but it is dampened more effectively. (Corners great too, but to me it always did)
They also took care of the annoying "uphill stance" that the US bumper height laws endowed on the car.
My 996C4 has US Spec suspension, and the ride height makes me crazy as well. I am getting close to switching to the PSS10's and have heard the ride quality is actually better than stock. Although there are many opinions on shock mounts whether to install camber plates or keep the stock rubber mounts, of course depending on how you will use your car.
good luck.
I'm used to 911's
The European C4S is OK. This one sucks on the front side, that's a fact... so PSS10 will be my friend I guess.
Rob, I don't think I'm going to tune up the car with some camber plates, larger bars and so on. It's not a track car at all. But at least I'd like her to behave like a 911.
i also hate the height of my c4s, considering just lowering springs to keep cost low, i think the turbo shocks we have are quite strong and could be reused with lowering springs...?
anyone with the same set up?
I've only known my C4S with PSS10s. If you get them, be sure to install them properly -- with the parts scavenged from the stock setup. Otherwise you end up with clanking in the suspension when you turn lock to lock on the wheel. I had that problem -- and it went away as soon as we re-inserted the proper parts (camber plates/bushings I think).
