I'm personally glad it was the Suby that hit the trees and not the Porsche.

I really cant stand them, for me (coming from the old days) it sounds like an old slant 6 with water in the distributor cap (those that know the sound will laugh, because that was a common problem for those) - drives me nuts and I want to run over and dry the cap out for them......could never own one beacuse of that sound

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
31 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.
Rennlist: 1 discussions
0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.
0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Went into a skid, crossed a ditch and into the woods where i knocked over two trees with the WRX. Not a scratch on me, thank goodness.
Here are some crappy cell phone pics.
Yeah, that's kinda the weird thing, I always assumed that if I were to total a car it would be the rear wheel drive Porsche with no traction control versus the AWD Subaru. Go figure. Life is full of surprises.
HA - the Porsche 2wd is my favorite car in the snow.....(of the cars I own) if you get in some, report back.... I think you will be surprised how much you like it too
I'm personally glad it was the Suby that hit the trees and not the Porsche. And I am even more glad that you are not hurt.
Seems to me the Subaru's are BUILT SPECIFICALLY for going into/through/between the trees. At least that is what the WRC crowd uses them for.
You will enjoy your Pcar as the DD. I do.
Glad you're alright. Some quick detailer should fix your WRX up just fine (J/K).
Hope you get her fixed up good as new or find something better to replace it.
OUCH!!! Glad to hear you are OK!
Be careful, the Missouri branch of the National Tree Hugger Society will be all over you *** if they find out what you did!
Sort of unrelated: why wouldn't the Pcar have been your daily driver in the first place? The car's a beast and resale values have fallen through the floor. Drive it. Use it. Own it. Love it.
Glad to hear that you're not hurt...
The original plan was to use mine in a similar way as you use yours; once or twice a week and the weekends... but I'm finding that mine is immensely more valuable to me as the DD (considering that it's my pre-paid entertainment for the next 10 years...) My wife signed up for my original plan and occasionally gives me grief about not sticking to it... But I sure don't want to go your route to "justify" using mine as a DD...
Anyway, glad to hear you came through it unscathed...

they're the same once you break traction, and I would think that because it's RWD, there is a built in level of respect so you don't push the car and tempting fate. People with AWD typically thing they can do no wrong, and the car will save them.
Glad to know you're ok. Subies are pretty tough in terms of their passenger cell rigidity and resistance to folding like a tin can.
OT whats the opinion on the "sound" a subaru makes?

I really like it. It is certainly unique, but sounds pretty darn good when you compare it to other 4 cylinder engines such as the mill found in the Evo.
