Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Wow..what a way to start the day, get a phone call at 6.30 am by police asking if I drove a grey porsche.."Yes, I do, why?" Officer asks where I parked it last night..."In my garage"..as my stomach sinks...officer asks if I'm sure..."sure, its right there in the .........holy ****....its gone". A I am realizing that my car is gone my wife notices her Cayenne S is missing from the street...
Haha...make a long sad story short...they came through the basement window thru laundry room..bypassed the CHUBB security system ( not pleased at that, at all) and made their way to main floor, helped themselves to both sets of keys, wallets, Motorola Razr, Blackeberry RIM, $9k Panerai watch, sunglasses etc...
Turns out these "pros" didn't realize my key chain had a BOOMERANG fob on it untill they got a few blocks from my house..so they decide to pull into a parking lot rip out the Pioneer AVIC-N1 system, empty anything of value from car, they ripped the BOOMERANG fob from key chain leaving it balanced on the instrument pod and lock car...then for fun they take a screwdriver and proceed to gouge almost every f&*king square inch of the car...and leave in the Cayenne S for parts unknown...
Parking attendent shows up at 6am sees car , calls cops, cops call me, day begins...
Sooooo...we have a POS Ford Explorer as a loaner...my car is looking at a total repaint, I don't want it back so I am in the market for 2 new Porsches...I think I'll get a 997 variant and the wife and kids another Cayenne S...
Anyway...good news is its only material items, none of my family got hurt and I didn't have to invoke my right to defending my home with force...lucky them.
Still, I am pissed ..... I live in a very good neighbourhood, took all the precautions down to security lights, CHUBB etc...moral is..if they want your car, its gone..period...
Cayenne S RIP...you'll be missed, enjoy Eastern Europe...
Wow that is a bummer. Like I always tell my friends "make sure your insurance is paid up ... that is the best securty system you can have."
That is my worse nightmare to have is to wake up while someone is breaking into my home.
Man , we work so hard to provide our familys with nice things, and some dirt bag son of a bitch ,comes in our homes in the middle of the night to take it. I feel bad for you , but as you said its only things, and not a life....... I am sure it will all work out in the long run...
That is just plain wrong. You are very lucky that they didnt have any other motives besides theft, esp since they came in the house. That takes ***** when someone is home.. Good luck on the new ones!
I don't know what to say! I almost know how you feel. Years ago, I had two cars stolen but not on the same day. Stolen about 18 months apart. Got one back, actually the one I didn't want back. Never saw the other one. That really sucks, BIG time! Glad you and the family are OK!
Glad to hear no one was hurt. You appear to have more patients than me- I do not even know how I would handle something like that, but it wouldn't be pretty (short fuse as it is). My old home was broken into a few years back and the guy ignored $35k worth of stereo gear to steal $500 of jewelry and a 10 yr old video camera. Luckily in my case no one was home (although for years I wished I was home at the time so that I could have caught the *****).
Hope you get everything replaced without hassle, and the scumbag who stole it dies a painful death.
Nope, probably won't , they were very professional, wore latex gloves, dumped the wallets on lawn minus the cash ( mailman gets a good bonus this year for honesty).
They even closed the window they came in and closed the garage after...haha..how considerate...they will get caught for something, someday......bad karma
The key fobs need to be in the boomerang ( GPS tracking device system hidden in chassis of car) equipped car or the car will notify satellite that car is in motion without authorization..(ie, Me!) The "fob" is fairly small , so in the jumble of keys on my chain its easy to miss, especially at 4am in my dark kitchen when your trying to rob a house without getting caught and shot ... SO when they realized I had an unbeatable tracking device they ditched car and took out their revenge over a lost sale....better for me then a total loss claim...
Sorry to hear that. Most late model Porsches are stolen with their own keys, sad to say. Maybe we should keep the keys in our bedrooms with a .45 under the pillow.
Would rather have them stay downstairs......who wants the trauma of a 3 yr old wondering why there is a dead guy in front of his bedroom and dad in court for the next 2 years defending his right to defend his family..
So true. On the bright side when the bad taste in the mouth fades, you are going to be going through the ecstacy of acquiring new Porsches soon. Nobody can hide from Karma, and everybody loves getting a new car. Good luck.
Man that is crazy. I can't believe these guys actually entered your house and took your keys / wallet / etc. That alone would be enough to make me sick.
That's exactly why I do not own a gun while living in the city, despite the fact that I grew up with them and am not "anti-gun."
Forget the cars, what about the fact that someone got into your house? If I were in your shoes, I would find that to be far, far more disturbing. What do you plan to do about that, if you don't mind sharing.
Wow man I'm so sorry to hear this. You are taking this very well, I would be in a white room for a week until I calmed down.
Very happy to hear no one was hurt, and I also believe the Karma wheel will spin against these low lifes.
Scott: That is shocking! I'm very sorry to hear this happened. But I am most certainly glad you and your family did not suffer any harm. Obviously these f*ckers were pros and had been watching you for sometime now. What is inspiring about your story is how poised you're handling this and the great attitude you keep. Not sure I'd be handling it like that myself.
All the best!
Agreed, we are getting an upgrade to our CHUBB system and cameras...not much more to do...again, if they want it they will get it..period.
Dog is a good option..I love them anyway..great time to grind the wife for one
CHUBB will be hearing from insurance co and my lawyers on the system they installed..but the damage is done..no one was harmed on either side, so its just "stuff" in the end..cheers
Ads it turns out our neighbours a block over had the same MO and lost a BMW last night...must be a sale on shipping containers to eastern europe this week!
sorry to hear this...some arsehole dont have respect for other peoples personal belongings...but I would like to echo what the board has said so far...your family is safe
i live in toronto....chubb alarm, 2 bullmastiffs, 9 guns and a shotgun in the closet beside the bed. no issues. get a bullmastiff, great dogs and great with kids...
www.knatchbull.ca
i would like to know how they bypassed a chubb alarm too
You have really shown a great attitude through this. Shows a lot for your character. Really puts life's important things in perspective.
I'm glad it wasn't worse.

Scott,
So sorry to hear this. It really sucks. I was actually at Pfaff around 3pm and I think I saw u and Jamie walked out to the parking lot to your POS rental Explorer. Anyway, heard the story from Jamie.
A while back, a guy on the desk had the exact same thing happened, the ******** got into the house, took the keys and just drove away. The cops said something about russian mobs... Anyway, like u said, its just material things and the real important things were not harmed.
Yah, that would have been me...hahaha...you really understand how GOOD our cars are when you need to drive a rig like the Ford Explorer...haha...need to re-learn how to brake and steer..was definately organized crime and not some amateurs..So back to Pfaff on Saturday to pick out a Cayenne for family and something new for me...a friend at Nesbitt had his Jag and MB taken same style...twice...bet his insurance Co loves him...Jamie is a great guy at Pfaff along with all of them, good people.
The scary part is that they were in your house and you didnt even know about it until after the fact. The situation could have been much worse. Glad everyone is OK.
Other than getting through the window...that is something not needed to be posted here....
Glad to hear eveybody is fine Scott. Just liek to echo what others have said about your great attittude and composure.
God...what a total bummer! Just thinking that someone is inside your house while you and the family are sleeping is enough to scare the beejesus out of you. You're lucky these yahoos didn't do anything else. Cars and trucks can always be replaced or repaired.
So, what is your insurance saying at the moment?
Hang in...
Jim
Sorry to hear about the cars, but glad to see that you and the family are safe.
Just curious - is your garage door silent. I would have thought a combination of switching the car on and / or opening the garage door would have created a good deal of ruckas?
Scott - sorry to hear about your loss but glad you are all well. Scary how often this stuff is going on. Get a dog! We have a Korean Jindo, world's best watchdog - when she barks, it ALWAYS means someone (or some animal) is out in the street. Last year she woke up the neighbor across the street who came upstairs (his house is on a downslope) to find some guys running away who had just grabbed his wallet and keys from his kitchen.
Good luck getting everything settled!
Scott,
Sorry to hear about your loss. I echo everyone's sentiment here that the most important thing is that you and your family are OK.
I also have an alarm system at my house. I am unsure what the brand is but it has one feature that you may want to look into when you talk to your alarm company. Each window and door, even the garage doors, have a sensor on them that triggers a "beep-beep" from the alarm system whenever one of the doors or windows is opened. I realize that this would not have prevented the thieves from entering through the window but you would have known that they were there the minute that they went into the garage.
iii
It's called a 'chime feature' and most every home alarm has it. But could be they cut wires/power/sensors. If they were pros, they'd get around most systems. Sucks.
Add cameras, auto sensing lights, signage and dogs.
Scott,
Just got around to read this. Great attitute, familly come first, the rest is only material stuff you can't take with you. I think you should offer attitude counseling...I recently blew a gasket for getting my car dusted. It really hits the mark when someone in TO goes tru that. Unfortunatly, us Canadian don't think these things happen in Canada. Makes me reconsider my own security setup : an alarm that I'm too lazy to activate and two yappy Jack Russells. It makes you realise that there are some pretty bad dude out there. We should all remember this. Take great precaution home AND never argue with bone heads on the road...they good have guns or be brain dead.
Good luck and enjoy the new P-Cars.
friend got hit three times in two years (word got around they had good stuff). on heist #3 they made it up usptairs while he and the Mrs. were sleeping. Emptied her jewels and a mink.
since then THey got a dog and haven't been hit since.
Alarms can be tripped, your dog barking and a panic button by your night stand not so easy.
