This is not a probability of success.

I haven't sat in the normal seats, but I do have the sport seats and as noted, it took awhile to adjust across my shoulders, they felt confined at first.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Because of the bigger bolsters, especially in the lat muscle area, you're going to want to be a skinnier dude.
But I don't foresee any comfort issues for people of all sizes especially those even looking at a small sports coupe like the 911.
I was gonna bring just this up. I am 5'8" and 172lbs. I wrk out and my back is kinda wide. I almost did not purchase my car because of the sport seats. They are narrow and lat and lumbar support is not adjustable. They take a little getting used to for sure!
I haven't sat in the normal seats, but I do have the sport seats and as noted, it took awhile to adjust across my shoulders, they felt confined at first. I'm 6', 180 lbs., but now they feel right to me.
I LOVE the Sport Seats! Way better than the regular seats, better than the seats in a Cayenne, and for DD better than racing seats IMO.
They are my favorite for long trips, canyon driving, basically everything DD can throw at you.
I'm 6'-7. Porsche designs for drivers up to 2m tall ..
I find my Sports Seats VERY comfortable. It's like strapping the car on when I step in.
The side padding holds my spine perfectly straight and tight while cornering.
does anyone have pictures of the differences between normal and sports seats...
I have lumbar adjustment but no bolster or thigh adjustments - I actually find them a little uncomfortable after a couple of hours of driving.
I am 5'11 and 175lbs
The sports seats are the most confortable seats I've ever sat in. I think my wife feels the same way. My '99 Carrera has them, wife's '99 Boxster has the standard seats. I'm 6' @187lbs, wear 46 sport coat, XL shirts, jackets. I've driven in them all day and half the night a few times, same with the standard seats. Much more comfortable than the seats in the wife's Lexus RX400h, or the 2 Jags I've had.
The sport seats really dont have lower back lumbar adjustments? I remember I felt like it was pushing my posture up a bit too straight and uncomfortable. Almost to the point it pushed your low back TOO much..

LOL - just turned 43 this week and weight the same as I did in 9th grade
Happy Birthday Ed! Now go eat a cow will ya! And gain some weight. I hear it helps keep the car 'planted'.
Those arent the seats in my car. But mine ARE sport seats. My car is a regular Carrera, I see your car was a C4S. Those seats must be specific to that model I guess. Anyway why the hell would they not put an adjustment for lateral and lumbar support, will puzzle me forever!!
Here's a pic of the sports seats in my '99 C2 Cab. They were a factory option, with optional embossed Porsche crests in the headrest area and the carbon fiber backs painted the body color, also an option. Notice the high shoulder bolsters that hug and locate your upper back and hold you tight during spirited driving. I understand these are made by Recaro for Porsche.
I have factory option sport seats in my 2003 cab. They are very comfortable. One thing that I really like about the seats is when they are all of the way down I have head room. I also took the stops out of the tracks to get more legroom.
That said I had to modify the cushion. I have arthritis in my right hip; Harley threw me on the ground and jumped on me many years ago, after I healed arthritis. I had to take the drivers seat apart to reinforce the mesh and add foam to the bottom cushion to get the fit I needed for the hip.
I’m 6’4” 265#.
I also had to do the same thing to our ML350 Mercedes and my wife’s Altima.
