I mean I am saying I run 19x11 et 67.....I DO NOT have 15mm space.

I run a 19x11 ET56 with a 295 and rub every now and then.

I've used both N rated and non N rated tires on my Porsches.

I've used Toyo's on a couple of cars - so far they are top of my rating, better than P Zero (Nero or Rosso) for example.

Suggestion
I am running 19x11 et 67 rears and 295/30/19....I LOVE that setup....handles amazing and gives a good ride....a 305 or 315 in my opinion would induce more understeer and me having a C4 I have more understeer than a C2 so I am always trying to dial that OUT, not in....also the 30 series tire puts a tad more rubber on the rim, giving me a smooter ride....so I get the 19 look, without the drawbacks of a harsher ride.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

As per the title question...the rims i'm looking at are available in the following sizes, which are the correct offset/sizing?
19" x 11" 5/130 25
19" x 11" 5/130 52
19" x 8" 5/130 45
19" x 9.5" 5/130 49
thanks
There is no
official
sizing, as 19" wheels are not approved for 996 by Porsche
Using OEM wheels from Porsche - on my 996 C2 I have:
19x11 with 67 offset rear (as stamped on the wheel)
19x8 with 57 offset front
No issues with rubbing etc - std suspension on the car.
As has already been stated, the 19" wheel with the 997 offset of 57 (front) is WAY TOO FAR IN. THe factory offset is 50 and most feel that is 5-7mm to0 far in anyway.
Omar-
A good measure to start with is what the offsets are for your 18". I think you would love the 8" et45 for the front. But in the rear the 11" et 52 might be too far out for you. The GT3 takes 11" et63 in the rear and I couldn't imagine moving that out 11mm.
Thanks.
235 front it's not very different from 225/30 R18, but 315 .... enormous !!!
It's oversize!! perhaps aesthetic is like a big foot but in corner stability, steering response, ride comfort, wet traction and so on wouldn't be the best compromise.
I've bought a set of Carrera S wheels off a standard body 2006 997 and i'm looking at tires now. I'm putting them on a 1999 996 cabriolet. I've decided to put 235 35 19s on the front but what should I put on the back? I absolutely don't want rubbing but I like an aggressive look. Do you have a rear shot of the 315 25 19s on the car?
Thanks! (and a classic, great looking car you've got!)
Thanks, here's a rear shot of the car
315 is a nice fit, not as stretched as the 295 on the rim - gives a good side wall with protection for the exposed edge of the rim.
Running 315 and 25 profile on 11" rims means that the tire runs
higher
than the 25 profile would suggest - and with the Toyo's being my #1 choice, I love it!
No rubbing on my 996, even with 315
And, What about of the equivalence? The geometry is changed
Aren't you modifing the gear box developments?
AnoTher question:
Did you mount N-specs tires?
Your car looks awesome. What a spectacular rear!!!!
The front tire wheel combo is the same 25" as the original spec wheel
The rear 315/25 tire makes the overall wheel/tire size -1.1% from original, but having a 315 width on an 11" rim makes the tire ride taller, and this gets you extremely close to the OEM size.
Limit on over/under size is 4% according to Porsche, so they're well within specification.
As for N rated - there is no 315/25/19 N rated tire that I'm aware of - there are very few 19" tires on the market to choose from.
The Toyo T1R is Y rated for speed 186 MPH or 300 KM/H - I am not concerned about their capabilities, or about using only N rated tires.
Thanks.
I can see that in US there are a lot of people who usually gets "normal" tires.
In Europe P-users prefer N-specs tires.
Perhaps you used to drive on highways in straight roads...
I've used both N rated and non N rated tires on my Porsches.
I can't say that N or non N is better - I do think that some manufacturers are better than others, and some tread patterns are better than others.
I've used Toyo's on a couple of cars - so far they are top of my rating, better than P Zero (Nero or Rosso) for example.
Just so you know - we have plenty of non-straight roads here!
This satellite view shows one of my favorite local roads - just look at the twists and turns as I go North East into Palm Dessert (top right of the map)
My Y rated tires worked just fine on this road - so I think I'm safe
This is my own way to understand this philosophy
THE PHILOSOPHY
Porsche represents far more than just an unmistakable trade name. Its the maximun exponent is the 911. Porsche is fascination. The 911 not only promises a world of experience. The myth becomes reality. Only then can you feel the power that is unique to Porsche both active and attractive. The brand thus embodies the epitome of sporty driving and thinking. That is a real philosophy for us, the 911 lovers, pure cPorsche, pure 911. When you've have the chance to see a nine-eleven for the first time, it probably changes your way of thinking about cars. The 911 is not a simply sport car, it's the myth 911. The longing to possess a 911 could become to transform into an obsession, or a 'beautiful' chronic disease... When you are seated at the commands of a 911 and you'd switch the engine on, you'll know that there is something different. It's characteristic flat-six engine sound is telling to us that we are in a real sport car. The '911 personality', is caused by the rear engine configuration. If you want to extract the most from the car, just driving it wouldn't be enough, you'll have to ride it as a pilot. The 911-concept has been enchanting all the Porsche 911 lovers far more than 40 years, and it's really alive more than never been thought before. Its uncomparable silhouette is another one of the 911 concept's elements. There are no similitudes to any other sporty car. 911 owners don't enjoy just driving it. They have fun contemplating the car after parked indeed. In fact we are talking about a mental sickness... a chronic desease. Imagine a sunny Sunday morning, an unfrequented road mountain, both the 911 and you... It's harmony, pleasure, symbiosis, everytime closer to eden, the nirvana of senses. The fascinating sense enkindled by the myth is over the good and evil, and even the love to sport cars. It's probably something that nobody could define and the 911 drivers reach to feel when the car is being driven. Am I crazy about the nine eleven? May be, ... But God bless Ferry Porsche.
There are no correct specs, but 19x8 42 front is what I run, and 19x11 67 rear with no rubbing issues....its on 235/35/19 and 295/30/19.....
bringing this back from the dead. my victor equipment 19's arrived and the rear offset is 52 (11 rear). if they don't fit i'm going to cut myself..i'm sick and tired of trying to get rims that fit.
i asked the guys at the place that i bought them from to make sure they fit..hopefully they will fit. that was the closest matching size that i could find to my previous wheels which were ET55.
aw man you've gotta be kidding me!
the 19" rims are only offered in the following sizes:
VICTOR LEMANS 19x11 5/130 ET25 BLACK MIRROR LIP
VICTOR LEMANS 19x11 5/130 ET40 BLACK MIRROR LIP
VICTOR LEMANS 19x11 5/130 ET52 BLACK MIRROR LIP
VICTOR LEMANS 19x11 5/130 ET52 BLACK MIRROR LIP
VICTOR LEMANS 19x80 5/130 ET45 BLACK MIRROR LIP
VICTOR LEMANS 19x95 5/130 ET49 BLACK MIRROR LIP
and as i recal, Eil (FastForwardWheels) had 20's on his car for ****s and giggles and they fit with what i believe was an ET50 offset on his GT3 (or 996 with aerokit II)?
edit: even in 18" sizes..they're only showing a ET52 as the only option in the 50's ....I"M SO CONFUSED! AHHHHHH WHY IS THEIR WEBSITE SO ****TY!
Are youo sure they are 11's and not 10's? I mean I am saying I run 19x11 et 67.....I DO NOT have 15mm space. I think they will suggest you run a 275 tire, which is too small a tire and will have that stretched look...the rim will extend past the sidewall....
i will be using a 275 tire since that's what i have around and these will be street tires not for track use.
they seem to stick out a bit more than my 9ff's did...once the car was on the floor and the suspension squatting properly, there was maybe 1-2mm's of play left.
i'll try 2 get a hold of Eli (FastForwardWheels) since he's running 19"s rite now.
So, where are the pics and the specs? We still don't know what size and offset you are running. And pics would be nice. You don't want us to sick Tim on you now do you?
what's a Tim?
pics will come 2morro...right now i'm going to crack open a beer and just sit in the sun...it was a total bitch getting these thigns on because my mounting machine is useless for big low profile tires.
specs are as follows:
19"x8" front ET?? 225/35/19 as i recall
19"x11" rear ET52 275/30/19 i think...it looks a bit ****ed..but i had perfectly good 275's lying around and there was no point in wasting them. once they're worn down i will go back to 285...in any case these are just for the street, i will get either VOLK TE37's, Agency Power's upcomming rims, or RENNWORX for the track.
LVDell and newport, appreciated your input on this thread.
cheers
If that is indeed an 11" rim then you are really stretching that 275 out. You really need to be running a 295 or 305 on that rim. Come on Omar, don't half *** it. Sell those tires that were just lying around and do it right. Your car is way too sweet to be given what is "lying around"
Are you sure that 11" rim is a et52 offset??? I can't imagine that fitting. I'd be curious as well about the front. Now go take some pics and post them em!
i sent my sidekick (read: little cousin) out to snap a pic with his cell phone camera and this is what he brings me back lol...
i'll take some good ones 2morro
Let me show you what a "Tim" is!!!! You go to all this trouble to get new wheels and then you post up one lousy pic??? Come on, you are a Renlist veteran, not a "Newbie" so you should know the "rules" by now.
Post up some more %$#!$^*(&% pics!!!
Seriously, I'm glad your new wheels worked out for you. I would like to see a couple of side shots of your car with the new wheels on it. The wheels look great!
I do have to agree with Dell (man, I really HATE it when this happens
) about the rear tire size. When the 275 tires go to the tire grave yard, a 295 or 305 tire would be better than the 285 size.
This seem like a good post to ask, I'm building some wheels for my car and I want to know what's the best offset for the rear?I was thinking some like 19x11 Et55. I just wanted to get the offset right before I spend all that money. my Porsche is a 2002 targa.
Thanks
I have a set of OEM 19" Carrera S (Lobster Claw) rims for sale....PM me if interested

is it poor etiquette to resurrect a thread this old?
A guy near me is selling a set of panamera wheels for pretty dam cheap.
They're:
10.0x19 ET61
9.0x19 ET60
Are those offsets too far in for an MK1 C4? I'm really not a fan of the stock twist wheels i have now. kinda dates the car.
Looks like most of the offsets from this fitment chart:
http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/inf..._chart/porsche
are in the 40-45 range.
Or, has anyone here fit a set of panamera wheels on an MK1 C4 yet?
I searched for a while and didn't see a specific thread about bolting up panamera wheels to a 996.
I visited this thread back in April, 2017 when I was researching if a set of 19" wheels (Kinesis F110) would fit. After much research I decided to get the wheels. They were specked for a 2004 GT3 with the rears having an ET64 and fronts having ET50, I put 295/30/19 on rear and 235/35/19 on front with no rubbing at all. It looks like I will have room for 305's in the rear the next time I get tires but not much more room if I were to go with a shallower offset..
