I am looking for a K&N CAI, who has the best price? On the install, is it pretty straight forward or will the shop need to tear up the engine compartment to install?

Its a semi big job and aside from the sound inscrease the HP is still still up for debate... some say it is a loss... I sold my kit to a guy in Canada as I didint want to go thru the mod for nothing... I am doing the Gillette mod for $2 and get the same sound ( I think) Ed

Oh whoops.....for a 2003 996. Dyno'ed the other day, got the same as others 3.6'ers on the board or close to it ~ 264 hp. Going to do the plenum and the CAI, dyno and see how it goes.

from what I read the trouble shows up when the engine gets hotter from running hard like days at the track. After the car gets hotter from solid driving the heat generated ends up in the intake thus causing the cold air to be warm and decreasing performance... so I hear?? E <not the expert>
