Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have solved the problem, but not 100% sure what happened.
Hi all,
I have a problem with the radio in my GT3. It is the radio which came standard in 2000 with just a casette, no CD (CR22 ?).
Anyway, when I bought the car I got a photocopy of the radio code card. Last weekend I had the battery disconnected to do the OBC retrofit, and when I reconnected the radio was asking for the CODE, with four * on the display.
I got the code and entered the first 3 digits and 3 of the * disappeared, on entering the final digit, the final * did not disappear, and the radio now seems to have "frozen" - no buttons seem to work, not even the On button.
I then flipped-down the front panel to access the tape slot, and then flipped it back up, the display is now blank, but the stereo still has its "background" lights.
Does anyone know what has happened? I am sure I typed in the correct code, but if I didn't do I get another attempt?
I also have to live with the possibility that the code on the photocopied card is incorrect.
Any ideas?
Turn your key on the ignition position for 30 minutes or until the radio resets itself to where you can enter the code in. If your code is wrong, contact your Porsche dealer & he can give you the correct code or maybe another Rennlist member can give you the code for your particular model year.
Thanks CLum - I actually drove the car for around 45 mins with the radio in its "frozen" state and it didn't give me another chance - I'll contact my dealer in the meantime to verify the code is correct and try what you say with the engine off.
what is your serial number for the radio? i can decode it for you..
i can only decode the becker units that use the 4 digit codes... just need the last four digits of your serial number. if you need to, you can do the "press down and hold tp button trick" to get to the menu to get your serial code...
what you can do is to unplug the battery again to force the radio to reset and ask for the code again.
I have solved the problem, but not 100% sure what happened. I took the CR22 out and checked the serial number against the card I have and it was correct - so I disconnected and reconnected the unit and it came out of the "frozen" state and re-entered the original code on the card - and it worked!! I can only presume the original freeze was a software "feature".
hayaku - thanks for the offer, I got hold of this software today and tried it out to see if it worked correctly - and one of the digits it gave me back was incorrect.
