Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The suspension was installed by Johnson's Alignment which is a place i've gone to numerous times as they do all my alignment from previous cars.

But before the replacement, the mechanic (BTW, Ottos in Venice, and Daniel, specifically is a great place for all things Porsche) pressure tested the system and a small filling hose burst (plastic/rubber nipple combo).
Leading evidence: 'Install by johnson's alignment' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Fill hose burst (plastic/rubber nipple combo)' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

But before the replacement, the mechanic (BTW, Ottos in Venice, and Daniel, specifically is a great place for all things Porsche) pressure tested the system and a small filling hose burst (plastic/rubber nipple combo). Fortunately, there was exactly ONE left in the LA area.
Super.
Then we noticed that the front drop link was dangling about. I just had the suspension installed earlier (not even 6 months ago) and the plastic form that goes into the metal hoop had totally popped out. On BOTH of the drop links.
This is from the PSS10 coilovers as they include drop links since OEM won't fit.
I had to get Tarrett Engineering links which is great, but am kinda bummed since this is not supposed to happen at all. I'll have to call Tire Rack about that.
The suspension was installed by Johnson's Alignment which is a place i've gone to numerous times as they do all my alignment from previous cars. I'm thinking this is completely a manuf defect. The plastic forms were cleanly popped out on both links.
When I was over on the hot aire side with a couple 993's, there were issues with the PSS9's and droplink failures, issues, etc. Your problem might be totally unassociated with theirs however. You may want to consider catching up on the 993 forum and see what is going on over there
I assume he means the lower end of the drop link where it connects to the rest of the suspension. It's a plastic ball-joint like thingy surounded by a metal ring.
I still must be thick. The lower end of the drop link connects to the anti-roll (sway) bar. There is a rubber boot that covers the ball..everything else is metal. Is it something under the rubber boot?
Right. On mine, there was no rubber boot as I saw it. It's the ball part of the drop link. It's plastic that is pressed or rather probably hot formed inside the metal cylinder part of the drop link (where the threaded rods are)
pics - please.....
cheap (or poorly engineered) parts **** me off....
who the hell would make drop link sockets out of plastic ? that is BS, what they weigh too much if they are metal?
