Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

First nice warm day of the year, wife and daughter were out, son was sleeping - the perfect storm! Got my bucket and wash supplies out, and washed the 911 for the first time in months (sad but true)! It's dropping down to the 20's tonight, so there wont be many more summer days until at least spring! Anyone else do the same thing??

POST 3Original post

It was in the 50's up here yesterday, but instead of washing my Porsche, I drove it instead. Now I find myself looking for the temps to reach 40 degrees so I can enjoy my 99. Eventually I'll break down and wash it if the weather ever cooperates.

POST 4Original post

I hand wash my cars at any temp above 32. I prefer to not create ice on the car though

POST 5Original post

I went to the local hand wash place and took her home and did all the finishing touch ups!! I did a lot of driving this weeks sonce I just had the 30k maint done as well as an EVO cold air induction Sounds great with the GHLs!!!

POST 6Original post

I wanted to wash and DRIVE my car so bad... I never had the time and than when I was going to drive into NYC and take the 996 a huge rainstorm hit so I bagged that as well.

POST 7Original post

Nah, I didn't waste time washing my 996, I popped the top to go went driving for about 4hrs. I made it back home 30 minutes befoe the rain poured.

POST 8Original post

] I hear ya. My wife isn't into me driving off into the sunset if the kids are up and bothering her. So, I too have to wait till nap time to make any daytime getaways! I WOULD have driven my car yesterday, but I was home alone with the boy sleeping. So washing it was the only other way to bond with the car.

POST 10Original post

In Charlotte, we're in a pretty severe drought and are restricted on our water usage, which means no car washing. It's killing me - I refuse to take the car to an automated car wash, so I have to spend the $$$ taking it to a detailer for something I'd rather do myself.

POST 11Original post

Right on! My P car is sleeping in Maine, but I did wash and wax my LR3. Spring can not come fast enough.

POST 12Original post

They are predicting that tomorrow's high temperature will only reach 70 here. Fortunately, it is only one day and it warms back up to the 80s.

POST 13Original post

As I write this, it's 11 degrees (-4 windchill) in Chicago.

Andy, I'm with you...the bond we have with our cars is reinforced each time we wash them. We run our hands over their shapes and in the process of bringing them back to a condition of cleanliness, we come to be more passionate about what it is we own.

POST 15Original post

Nope, I washed mine last week when it was 27 degrees out in the warmth of my garage with Optimum No Rinse.

While the relationship is deep, it's still platonic rather than romantic! :-)

POST 20Original post

Here is my 36 hour forecast Depressing. It has been like this for months. I seriously need to move - is anyone in a better climate hiring???

POST 21Original post

Can't wait for 70! My lower limit is 20F (no wind) for a driveway wash. Warm water from the house faucet. Quick to the garage for the dry.

POST 22Original post

Well, I got to drive mine today - tomorrow it will snow, so the car will be off the road for another week or so until the snow and ice clears... it sure was nice to drive today though.

LOL. O.T. - Did you hear any news about the Fabspeed charity car show this spring? Are they planning one? I met you at last years show in Ambler. Also, I plan on attending one of the "coffee and cars" with the F-Chat gang one of these Saturdays, I hope to see you there.
