I've embarked on a limited production project that is slated to use the either the G50 transaxle from Porsche, the Audi 01E or a specially built unit.

Where might I find a source - either for new units (without going to the factory, as I fear it would be too expensive) or used units that are reconditioned and have some sort of warrantee?

Hello, I've embarked on a limited production project that is slated to use the either the G50 transaxle from Porsche, the Audi 01E or a specially built unit. With regards to the G50, I understand that this gearbox is used currently in several mid-engined applications. Where might I find a source - either for new units (without going to the factory, as I fear it would be too expensive) or used units that are reconditioned and have some sort of warrantee? The first run will encompass one prototype and 40 production units - so, this is the number of gearboxes I'm searching for. Somone correct me if I am wrong but the G50 isn't used in the 996 as far as I know. I think it's a 964 or 993 gbox. The 996 uses a Getrag G9600 and parts for it have limited availability.
