Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

20 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm thinking about putting the GHL's on my newly purchased 03 cab. I know several of you have them. Are you still pleased? At steady throttle, I'm assuming it's not too different than stock.

POST 3Original post

i have them on my 996 c2 2002 cab, zero resonance that is why i purchased them.

POST 6Original post

01 Cab with GHL 'Louds' and I love them...even the wife appreciates the extra roar when I get on it a little.

POST 7Original post

I had fabspeeds, then GHL louds. The GHL's were way too loud and had a little resonance too, back to fabspeed for me! But, there again you gotta hear them for yourself, I sold mine to Jeff above and he loves 'em.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the input. I don't see any distinction on the GHL Web site for louds. Is that a special order deal? Im looking for something just a bit louder than stock, so Id probably order their non-louds, whatever those may be called.

POST 9Original post

ghl recommends the louds for 2002 and newer...

POST 11Original post

Installed my Fabspeeds last week and I love them! My up-shifts in normal driving are now at or above 4K at all times. I got them from Dan at Vividracing, he provided an excellent service.

POST 12Original post

We did a 996 exhaust shoot off in the Bay Area some years back. IMHO, the 996 PSE sounds the best, then GHL is a close second. As a result of that epxerience, I ordered GHL "Loud version" when I bought my 993 C4S. I am very happy with it. Good luck!

POST 13Original post

You can specify "Loud" when you call them to order. Their web site needs some work...

POST 14Original post

Have regulars on my 2000 C4 CAB sound great no resonance, would buy again.

POST 15Original post

I'd strongly recommend the regular version, even on a '02 up. The louds are very loud, make fabs sound stock. Somebody is always selling a set or two in the 500$ range, of all the ones you're looking at, just pick some up then sell them if unhappy.

POST 16Original post

Have them on my 03 cab and love them. Only downside is increased fuel consumption from taking her to redline from every stoplight just to hear her roar! By the way, the guy from GHL told me that there really is no loud vs. regular for 02 and beyond.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good information from everyone. Thank You. I'm heading down to have them installed in about 30 minutes. I'm both excited and apprehensive. As someone pointed out, worse case scenario is I pull them off and put the stock ones back on.

POST 18Original post

GHL regular on my 00 cab. No resonance. Delightful sound. I haven't turned on the radio/CD player since I put them on last winter! Just one thing: don't get the tips. They look good from the back (i.e., facing the back of the car) but they are too short on the side (i.e., you can see the tailpipe coming down).

POST 19Original post

have had the regular on my 03 c2 for a year and a half. I love it. no resonance for me. I guess I made the right choice by not going with the loud.

POST 20Original post

There is actually, just ask Brian. My louds clearly had 'loud' written on them in fact, they were significantly lighter than my previous ghl regs and much louder.
