Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I use similar wheels (7.5x17 and 9x17) on my '02 C2 for winter tires and they work well, although I don't worry much about overstressing anything because it's winter, and they're shod with winter tires so there's not much "performance driving" going on.
Leading evidence: 'Use similar wheels (7.5x17 and 9x17)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use either' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I recently sold my 944 and Boxster and purchased a 2002 996 Cab on Thursday. I had a 300 mile trip back home and everything drove great. I need help with the wheel offsets though. It appears that the car has 17 inch 993 wheels. The rears are the correct offset but the fronts seem way off. They are 17X7.5 65mm. The correct offset is 17X7 50mm. I am not sure of the exact conversion but none the less this does not seem correct. I could not see any spacers being used either. I checked the clearance and it is there; however, very little between the wheel, claipers, and struts. If there is no rubbing am I dangering the car? I do not want to mess up the suspension, my guess is that this will also have an effect when I start to autocross it. any thoughts on these offsets?
That was absolutely my first thought when I saw that picture. I have those exact rims on my 1994 Cab!
Car looks great, but lose those rims as fast as possible!
Congrats. You should be able to pick up decent rims for your new ride very easily. My personal favorite in terms of performance per dollar are the 18" lightweight carerras. Lightweight, strong, nice looking, and in ready supply since they are stock wheels that many get rid of in favor of expensive aftermarket. Try the classifieds. If you want them now and want a guarantee of trueness, try wheel Enhancement.

Someone posted a week or so ago about a dealer offering his car with "any set of wheels" on the lot. Maybe this was his handywork!!!!
Nice car, go BBS!!!
lol,
op should go back to the dealer and swap the wheels, so before long someone will post here like:" i am not sure but i saw a 996 with 993 wheels last night? any stories to tell"?
Those wheel sizes and offset sound correct for a 928 GTS, so in fact they could be as much as 13 years old. That's if they're genuine Porsche wheels. They could just as easily be Mille Miglia replicas, which are not quite a strong, but probably not quite as old. Curious how they wound up on that car. I use similar wheels (7.5x17 and 9x17) on my '02 C2 for winter tires and they work well, although I don't worry much about overstressing anything because it's winter, and they're shod with winter tires so there's not much "performance driving" going on.
'02 C2, sliver/black, driven daily - rain, snow or shine

So quickly we forget that 18" Carrera wheels were actually an option on a '02 Carerra. I believe those 17" wheels in the picture were standard at the time.
I got mine in Oct. of '01 and paid more for the wheels and Xenon headlights.
Weird that the car had those wheels. Congrats on the new car and welcome to the list, I think GT3 Wheels would look great on there, or maybe a nice techart.
