because bilstein prices their parts at will.
honestly, i bought my pair of pss9's at a RETAIL price of 1200$US. Bilstein must have been making a reasonable profit at that level, but then they jacked up their pricing across the board to the 1900-2G level. Pissed me right off that's for sure, they're just gouging, and its not like there arn't other solutions out there. Porsche OEM, D2 Racing, JIC Cross, SPAX all fall cheaper or around the new retail price of new bilsteins and are quite good products.
Don't get me wrong, bilstein's are great products and they stand behind them with good customer service, but if i had to do it all over again, i may not go with them. (Then again i'm also one of those guys who likes to root for the underdog...and having said that: it'll be the cowboys in 2007
)
these prices are fromt 969motorsports. they have been having problems as of late. just as a warning.
