Then only told me, that they could replace the inner tie rod to start with ($500) and if that didn't work replace the rack!($1500)!.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I took my 1999 C2 with 18,000 miles to the dealership because when you drive the car for awhile a rattle starts, which sounds like it's coming from around the front driver side wheel. It sounds as if something is loose, you can feel it thru the steering wheel and even the clutch. The strange thing is, it will not make this noise when you first start driving it, it may take 30 minutes before it starts. The dealership said they did not what it was (fun answer), they checked to make sure everything was tight. Then only told me, that they could replace the inner tie rod to start with ($500) and if that didn't work replace the rack!($1500)!. They still couldn't even tell me that would solve the problem! I'm not interested in throwing new parts to something I don't even know will take care of it, who would be. Has ANYONE has had this problem?! Let me know PLEASE!
