Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I am convinced that in the middle of the night somehow my alarm is disarming itself. Maybe ever second day after I lock it up for the night I will find that its unlocked in the morning. Anyone else find this happening?

The only time I had the alarm disarm itself with my 02 Boxster was when the keypad rubber split and somehow jammed the lock button. I'd press the lock button and the car would lock then unlock. I glanced down at the key module and noticed the LED blinking after I released the lock button. Make that two times, or maybe 3 times when I had the car keys in my pants pocket and was working around the car -- sometimes in a room next to the garage -- and I guess the keys and other stuff in my pants pocket would result in an unlock button press. Are you sure you are not accidently sitting on the key while you at home in the big old leather recliner? Nowadays -- for some years now -- I take my car keys out of my pangts pockets and put the keys in a bowl but not too close to the front door and if you have a mail slot in your front door never within reach or in sight of that. The only time I had the alarm arm -- the doors lock -- on their own proved to be due to a bad passenger door lock assembly. Sincerely, Macster.

Yeah I am not hitting it accidentally, in fact it even unlock the car I have to be right next to the door before it will work, even with new batteries!
