Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Need to do my Front Brakes from Next Summer. Factory Rotor's will have 150+km on them by Summer 2012. Factory Pad's will have about 75-80+km on them by Summer 2012. Pads were Replaced with Genuine Porsche (Textar) Pads at around 70km about 4 years ago. Getting Sebro Rotor's but im stuck at which Pads to get. Please if anyone has any experieance with the pads listed below, other than Factory Porsche Pads, please give us your Review. Getting my Parts from www.ecstuning.com 1) PBR Metal Master - $63.40 2) Textar - $99.07 (I belive these are the same Pads as Genuine Porsche that you would by from the Dealer. Also same Pads as Mentix Red's and Pagid i believe) 3) NPN - $107.29 4) ATE - $124.54 5) Genuine Porsche - $190.99 from Suncoast/Sonnen (I believe these are "Textar" Pads, just Twice the Price)

POST 2Original post

Zookie, My last set of pads was a mix of Mentix and Textar. Im not sure why but even with the crummy squeal tabs they were noisy until the end of thier life. After tracking they would be quiet for a week or so then the squeal would come back. Nothing excessive like race pads but it was there and it annoyed me. I just installed OEM Porsche pads front and rear with shims a few eeks back and no noise whatsover. I know Textar is an OEM supplier but after dealing with the squealing pads I paid extra for the Porsche pads. Very happy now.

POST 3Original post

Do the Textar pads come with the pad sensor holes? I like my Pagid's...but not for the street.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thank Hardback. Jus confirmed with my Indy, Textar Pads are Squeekier than Factory Textar pads... Weird. Any info on PRB's guys? How about Hawk HPS?

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone tried the PRB Metal Masters on Porsches? I had them on my Passat 1.8T and was very very happy with them.

POST 9Original post

im using pagid yellow in front and stock pads in rear v decived to leave the pagid yellow even for the street cause i dont drive the car a lot im in need of new front rotor, how do you like your sebro? how much are they? and where did you purchased them?

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 9095757

yea i dont want Track Pads, i DD my car put about 300-400km in a Week I have not bought the Sebro Rotor's yet but i have been told they are OES. They are about $135 Each @ ECSTuning.com.

POST 11Original post

Had them on my 951 and hated them in the wet, but that may have been the car. When wet they did not seem to have good initial bite (there was often a heart beat of - crap will the car stop). That being said, they were quiet and relatively dust free. I have a set of new textars (fronts I think)... your for shipping is you want.... EDIT: They are for a C4 and not C4S. They won't fit. Sorry for the false hope.

This is what i Observed on my VW with these Pads. Thanks for your Input

POST 13Original post

The OEM pads on your car are Brembo pads, while the Mintex, Textar and Pagid (Don, Cobreq, Cosid & Dynotherm) are all different groups of the TMD group. Mintex is their entry level pads, Textar mid point and Pagid is the Racing group. If you wanted something that works like the Brembo pads... then try the Pagid RS421's Sport. These are probably the closest to factory.
