Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've got a 2001 TT with the factory NAV unit. This is not the BOSE audio. I'm considering an upgrade to a aftermarket NAV/Audio system. Does the OEM system have separate amplifiers? If so where are they located? I'm not looking to have the top of the line audio system just a nice upgrade and a NAV that's a bit more useful than the factory system from 2000! What a joke. Is swapping out the OEM double DIN unit and replacing with aftermarket a DIY project? Could I use the OEM GPS antenna with aftermarket head unit, not sure where the antenna is located? Thanks for the insights or maybe reference to some insightful posts. K

Amp last known is on the wall of the trunk just above the spare. Nav unit I'm not sure but I think there were updates on cd's for it. There are manuals online in the UK.
