Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

At least I thought it was a smokin deal. The coil packs showed up yesterday in the mail and were not "OEM/OES" as the Flea Bay ad said. They were made by Hamburg-Technic. Beru is the OEM supplier to Porsche. And I highly doubt they are "German" They don't say country of origin anywhere, which makes me think China. At least I have 14 days to return.... to Douche Parts. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...5200&viewitem= When I sent the seller an email saying that Bosch was OEM not Hamburg-Technic, I got this response: "The parts are Manufactured by Hamburg Technic Germany. They manufacture Parts for Audi, BMW, VW, M-Benz, Porsche, etc.. listing does not mention Bosch - Bosch is just another manufacturer. Team DP USA. - deutschepartsusa"

POST 3Original post

they do have a site hamburgtechnic.com ; you could pry ask them a few questions about comparo to Bosch.. they have a branch in Norwalk, CT

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, this answers my question... http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread.php?t=1727771 I am going straight for a refund. Looks like it's going to be a fight. By the way, the Ebay ad never said the coils were made by Hamburg Technic, it said OEM/OES, which would have been Beru. I saw in one google search that Hamburg Technic specializes in buying OEM reject parts and repackaging.

POST 5Original post

you need to add "for seller" to the back of your headline on the OP

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Excellent suggestion, I added it. I know Flea bay is always a gamble, but this deal looks good: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWAX:IT Sorry, I can't help myself.........But these coils are the latest 997 series, maybe this will upgrade my 996 enough to prevent an IMS failure!

POST 7Original post

If you paid by using your credit card, just file a claim with the cc company's dispute department, describing how you were misled. That will force the seller to give you your money back. Heck, you might even end up getting to keep them without paying if the seller never responds. They'll just end up getting charged back for your purchase. From my experience in the retail market, 99% of the time the credit card company sides with the consumer. Best of luck with your dilemna.

POST 8Original post

To add to my post: First file a claim with ebay's and paypal's dispute department. Then with your cc if you don't get the outcome to your liking. I just realized where your purchase was made...

POST 9Original post

You can buy OEM from Suncoast Porsche for $47.00 each. I wouldn't take a chance of some other unknowns for such a small difference. http://www.suncoastparts.com/category/996elec.html

Yeah, suncoast, sunset, and porscheoemparts.com are the best ways to go for stuff like that.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK, the seller and manufacturer both responded The seller said: "Please return Unused items & in Original Packing to: Eurostar Industries Inc. 1 Testa Place Norwalk, CT 06854 Attn: DP **All items are inspected for damages or usage before credit/ refund is issued (less S+H charges)** Team DP USA. - deutschepartsusa" The manufacturer responded: "We thank you for your below Email to us directly for clarification. Regarding the 996 Ignition Coils, yes they are indeed Manufactured by OEM Factories for us. There is NO AFTERMARKET or China on these. We have over 500 types of Ignition Coils & each & Every one of them with our Label are made for us by OEM factories(there are many more than Bosch & Beru in Germany). Bosch & Beru are high Quality Brands with heavy marketing overhead that is built into the Price. All Coils are not necessarily manufactured in their factories either. All our Parts come with 1 Year Warranty from Date of Purchase, as long as you have the Bill of Sale, we will Warranty the Parts if the Vendor does not. Incase you still want to return the Ignition Coils, the Vendor or us will take them back with NO Questions. I hope this will satisfy you completely. Best Regards, Brenda Schultz Customer Service Head North America Hamburg Technic Autoteile Deutschland GmbH" So I will pack up the coils and send them back. The next fight of course will be the shipping cost. The eBay ad says free shipping but I know they will hold something back and make a hassle of it.

I have stopped buying ebay.. Specifically from power sellers. I have taken so many StrekStrekStrekStrekings from ebay I gave up.. The only time I EVER do well is when buying from another joe shmoe like me... Ya know a guy that has something he needs to get rid of.. Not some power seller that is selling crap he knows nothing about or has cheap knock off crap from china
