This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I would only do the X51 if it were to replace a defective engine.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hy;
I will soon buy, in Spain (where I live), a 2004 996 C4S.
I was thinking of upgrading to the X51 pack, but some people have told me that I will win more power in the upper range of rpm's, but loose some in the low and mid range rpm's. Is that so? Is the upgrade worth the money? Is there a real, noticeable, power win?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Cheers.
If I wanted a 996 TT, I would have only spent about 7500 more than my 996 C4S. Mine happened to have the X51, but I paid for it as if it had none.
I would only do the X51 if it were to replace a defective engine. Otherwise, I would just spend the extra money for the 996 TT.
If you already have the C4S and are wondering how to make it faster, you should look into supercharging. You can get 150 hp for about the same price as the 25 horsepower from the X51. If you want to make it faster on the track you should look into suspension and tire/wheel options. The 996 turbo PSS10 suspension with 9x19ET53 + 11.5x19ET44 Champion RG5 wheels with Pirelli PZero Corsa System 325/30ZR19 asymmetric rear and 255/40ZR19 directional front tires are best for the C4S and will make you a lot faster than 150 horsepower. Then again, all four options transform the C4S into a very nice car.
Thank you all for your help!!
Had no idea the upgrade was SO expensive... Will definitely do without it. I'm hopefully selling my Bimmer in the next weeks, so I will most likely enter 2010 with a 4S in my garage.
Cheers to all.
