Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

...I've been hanging around at 951 section. But after I was quite violently separated from my 951, I had to find new wheels. So I sold my soul to the dark side, and bought yesterday a rear engined car. Thanks, I already do. And oh gosh, I think I have to change the server of those pictures...just a moment...

POST 5Original post

So this is a 996 in GT3 clothes? I didn't realise that M030 stuff was still a spec'd option code up to so recently. So is this the one we spoke of Pete and therefore are you going to be doing that other stuff still? Nice to have a new-ish car. Best of luck Pete.

POST 6Original post

Very pretty! Looks like it's ready for an X73 suspension!

POST 7Original post

It looks great Pete. Congratulations! Hope you enjoy it in good health. So are you ready to turbo charge it?

POST 10Original post

Sweet! Nicely done! Welcome to the 996 Forum!

POST 11Original post

Hmmm. So the sport seats do come with a heating option... Welcome! Its a beautiful car. I am biased of course...

POST 12Original post

Quotes source post: 6426133

He already has KW var 3's on it. That's a great coilover.

POST 13Original post

Nice looking car. Welcome to the world of *** engined oversteer....

POST 14Original post

Drool. Love it but I'm biased as well. Welcome to the 996 section.

POST 16Original post

Looks good. I've always liked the look of the aero package on the MKI 996.

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 6426176

John, I'll send you e-mail later this weekend, I've got some question sbout 951 stuff... Concerning turbocharging, it can't be done legally over here. Unfortunately.

POST 21Original post

I also switched from a 944 turbo (actually I've owned 8 of them in various levels of prep, from a bone stock 20k mile turbo S to a fully gutted caged track car). The 996 is a great platform, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I don't go for bling mods either, but the GT3 badging wouldn't bother me too much personally. I mean, it already has the body kit. Speaking of, it does seem to make a difference on track.

POST 22Original post

Groovy, let's all get together to *wish* for warmer weather!

POST 23Original post

sweet car! How many miles? I heard things about the engines that keep me away from the 996 did they fix them?

POST 24Original post

You guys have to get you own popcorn and drinks.

POST 26Original post

See! Now don't you feel better already? Welcome to our (996) world. Folks here have a lot of fun.

POST 27Original post

Great looking car. Congrats! What happened to the 951? Did I miss a bad story? I'm just now gettnig around to making those TB parts you showed me...

POST 28Original post

Welcome, Beautiful car... great intro and pics.. Thanks for sharing

POST 30Original post

Great car. I know you'll love it. Sucks about your 951. It was one of the cleanest around. I know you won't regret the 996 though. They are truly wonderful cars.

POST 31Original post

I suppose this caused Pete to move from this to this Saw Pete's new ride yesterday, superb fine example with very low km's, looks like a new car. OK, now it's time to make some improvment's..... According to Pete's wife that won't happen, but somehow iam almost sure Pete already have some nice stuff to be added for this new one Most likely we have to change soon our "Gruppe951" to something else since now there are beside Pete's new car one GT3 and a 997C2.

POST 32Original post

that sucks... in a good sort of outcome way.... but still... sucks about the old car. Sorry to hear, glad you are OK

POST 34Original post

Quotes source post: 6426637

Over where? Are you also in Finland as Olli? Car looks great, sorry about your old ride. You've got it just in time for spring and the summer shows, so I guess you will be doing some of your own mods, ha. I might suggest some aluminum gage rings for a quick nice way to wake up the interior. Car looks great, love to see more pics of it around your local area.

I have read somewhere that Turtle wax is coming out with a extra strong wax sorry to hear about your car......but in the end it all worked out!! and now you are driving a "real" Porsche

POST 36Original post

POST 37 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, I'm in Finland too. Some mods will be done, suspension and brakewise...more on that later. And you'll get some more pictures, when the weather allows driving. It snowed 2" today. Only 30700 mls, and I'm taking my chances with that engine. Autofarm makes first aid kits, if necessary. Turtle wax is good, but even it can't rub out twisted chassis. And be aware with that "real Porsche" thing...996 is water cooled... And for everyone: Thanks!!

POST 39Original post

Quotes source post: 6429196

Yes, the 996 is water cooled...... so what's your point???

POST 40Original post

I didnt get that one either.... (his 951 was......... )

POST 41 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, there are air cooled purists, then there are rear engine fundamentalists, not to mention those who think everything that's been built outside Stuttgart aren't real Porsches... In that real Porsche scale my new car is 2 out of three, with an engine which is about to explode. Last one scored 0. If I'd care...

POST 42Original post

Pete, we are glad to have you here on the 996 forum!

POST 43Original post

Yes we are almost neighbours, less than 10km's between our houses

POST 44Original post

Congrats on the purchase... Enjoy it at the fullest!

POST 45Original post

Very nice 996 Pete! So...less of a project car and more of a driving car I suppose!?
