Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey Guys, I just replaced the pads w/ factory standard ones quite easily but there is now a "grinding" sound coming from the drivers side front wheel (wasnt there before). Its a constant, speed related sound that is not affected by applying the brakes. It does seem to go away when turning to the right. I havent had a chance to pull the wheel back off yet. Any suggestions???? Thanks Frank 02 Targa 05 M3 Convertible 90 E30 M3 05 BMW K1200S 95 Ducati 900SS SP

POST 2Original post

did you bed the pads in? I'd drive around in it and see if the noise is still there after a couple of hundred miles.

POST 5Original post

+1, pull the wheel off, i think you forgot something ...

POST 6Original post

did you put the pads in backwards? backplates towards rotor?

POST 7Original post

Could be a lot of things. Does the grinding sound like a thin piece of metal scraping against rotor? The heat shield might be coming in contact with the rotor. If it is just bend it back.

POST 8Original post

Lift the front of your car and take the wheels off - spin the rotors to find the grinding spot - and try what has been suggested before as well. BOL
