Saturday, I ran the first event with the local BMW Car Club (I know I have a Porsche but, I used to be the autocross chairman for them for several years)

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

No, I didn't work on her on Sunday, just cleaned her up.

over at the new Washington circuit at Summit Point. Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on who you are, the track was just finished but they haven't planted grass in between the paved sections. Plus it's been raining for the last few days. That equals a lot of mud. Mud that coated part of the course and created some decent sized pools of standing water, one that we went through. Overall it was a really fun day. Challenging course and unpredictable grip made for some interesting moments. I got into a pretty big four wheel drift (Wish someone got pics but so far no one posted yet) on my first run.
The result:
It's hard to tell with a silver car but a film of mud/dirt all over my car. My exhaust tips kind of hint at the film on the car.
After a little TLC:
Yes, it was worth it.
By the way, my last run was good enough for FTD.
Pete, looks like you had a great weekend. By chance were you working on your car yesterday - I was out in the afternoon since we had a warm front and detailing the 996 and heard revving for 10 mins on the next road?
Well have to catch up with you soon.
That was Tim. Since he hasnt much to do these days, he has been seen roaming the country trying to coax low mile Porsche's out of their garages with his patent pending 996 mating call.........
I hear Phil's car went missing while he was in California, but came home before anything was discovered....
No, I didn't work on her on Sunday, just cleaned her up. Funny, I heard the same guy car revving his motor. I think it's the spec miata guy on our main street. Did you replace your MK I yet? Any hints as to what you got?
Definately, we have to get together soon.
Tim- Don't knock my profession. I deliver flowers fast. It's how I pay for my toy. LOL
FTD= Fastest Time of the Day (to deliver flowers). Of course there is an upcharge for the faster delivery
Edit: My car was as dirty as my friends M3 but it doesn't show up as much as my car is silver.
It could have been worse, 2 guys ended up in the mud. Doh! They'll be washing the underside of their cars for days to get the mud off.
I really wanted to go to the event, I saw u got the FTD!! not bad for a 9 year old beetle... I wish it wasnt raining. I got lazy when I saw the forecast Friday night.. I wonder how my beetle on Boost would have done out there...
Pete, I'm not knocking your profession. I just figured that the FTD logo on your rear side window and wheel caps was a dead giveaway. I'm surprised no one else noticed it.
George, you would have done phenomenally with all wheel drive and you would have been a contender for FTD easily. The course was really slick in a couple of sections but the on the back side of it was a huge sweeper that allowed our cars to shine as we can put power down much earlier than the BMWs due to our rear weight bias. I can't wait to see what your new fire breathing beetle can do. I suspect that I'll be seeing second in X class against you. For those who don't know, I like to register my car in the autocross as a 1999 beetle. I'm sure it confuses people when they read the final standings.
Tim- LOL.
The wings make me faster.
That's the school. If you haven't registered for it, I don't think you'll get in. I heard there are 60 people on waitlist. So much so that they are considering doing a second school. The next even is also at Summit Point Washington Circuit on May 2. Either way if it's wet or dry that day, your car will fly.
When's the next PCA autocross. I might have to get my April fix with them?
