Looks like his record run is for fastest porsche to run the mile, I think 3 supras swept it and picked up 1,2,3 and all ran over 140 mph.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

hi i just saw a post on the 996 turbo forum with evoms run 231 m/p/h... LINKY ....how about our 3.4L's or 3.6 SC or not ,how fast can they go........?

Our cars are gear limited, even with 100000 HP, you won't go any faster... -td

POST 4Original post

I was actually surprised the turbo has a tall enough final drive to hit that speed, so I had to do math Stock 996 Turbo X50 Top Speed Calculation Absolute Final Drive : 2.58 Rolling Diameter: 25.3 Redline: 6600 Gear Limited Top Speed : (6600 X 25.3) / (2.58 X 336) = 192.5mph (now I know we've seen turbos tested to speeds as high as 202mph by magazines and such, but I'm just going off the gear limited line of thinking, IIRC cutoff is actually 6800 or so which means 198ish mph) Let's assume that Evo raised the limiter to 7400 rpm, that gets us to 215.8mph In fact, in order to hit that 231.7 number with that redline and the turbo gears, you'd need an RD of 27.2 inches (which is doable) or more likely, standard RD and a replacement 6th gear of 0.69:1 or so. Or of course, raise cutoff to 8000rpm, i mean its only for a mile right?
