My private Porsche shop here in NC installed my ROW for right at $600.

Changing just the springs and use them with US shocks is not a good idea.
Use stock sways, the shocks and springs are matched

Suggestion
The RoW C4S/TT uses the stock sways, the shocks and springs are matched for a lower ride, there actually is no '030' for the C4S or TT, they both have the same turbo tuned suspension, just US and RoW ride differences.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Guys,
I'm going to Lake Worth, FL to visit Mom.
I'm picking up my new HRE's in Miami (Wheels Boutique)
While I'm down there, I'd like to lower my ride, for cosmetic reasons.....don't want to hassle w/driveway, scraping, etc.....so:
1-What product would you suggest
2-Where in the Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Palm Beach area would you suggest I get installation done?
Gracias,
Richard
I too am interested in lowering the ride. Cost-effective, quality suggestions would be highly appreciated. Also, I've still got a year of factory warranty left and don't want to jeopardize it; thus, I'd appreciate a heads up if any of the suggestions pose a threat to the warranty.
I have a feeling that if you stick w/factory stuff, such as X73, or ROW 030, you're safe.
I just called Champion Porsche in Pompano FL, and for labor on ROW install, including alignment, they want $1239. I have no idea of that's high or low.....please advise!!!
There are 5 ways to lower a C4S/TT
1. Pss9/etc, kiss warranty goodbye, hassle to adjust imo.
2 .X73, hard core old school, runs about 1800 parts from braman porsche, plus 4-800 to install it bc front diffferential is taken down as well.(motor mounts too)
3. RoW lowering kit, same ride as now just 20mm lower, just as much work as x73 to install. Your car already has a TT/C4S version of the 030, just to US specs.
4. Just add RoW springs to your stock shocks, will lower it, might get bump steer at speed, just as much work to install as x73.
5 .HR springs to stock shocks, same labor problem, cheapest.
1239 is not rtealistic for a C4S, RoW parts alone are 1600. 030 is for a NB car. Contact Javier at braman porsche.
I agree, however I just called Brandywine, and they want 12 hrs, plus 300 for alignment (approx 1500).....prices seem to be all over the map!! Also, I didn't realize there were so many lowering packages from Porsche....10mm, 20mm, 30mm.
My private Porsche shop here in NC installed my ROW for right at $600. The dealership quoted 8 hours at about $90/ hr. Totally worth it...I didn't think handling could get much better than stock but it did. Great mod.
Richard, FVD is off Copans Rd. in Pompano Beach and it's right down the street from Champion and the newest Harley Davidson dealership in S. FL so check it out and say hi to all my friends at the dealership. Tell em Jeff say's hey from albuquerque.
BTW Champions racing facility is on the same road ad Harley in Pompano Beach. No track but the race team is based there....COOL!!!
Way too high. I just had the 030 suspension installed today on my 04 Targa by J3 Racing in Atlanta. They charged me $712 with a complete 4 wheel alignment.

By the way, this shop is very good. They race GT3 and RSR cars and the facility is one of the best race shops around. They did a great job and now my car looks right and drives better.

An AWD/4S car is different than a rear drive C2, as the front drive is partially taken down for installation. That alone accounts for the pricier install.
Bill, how long did the work take at J3?
I agree, nice facility. I bought some Piloti driving shoes there.
I have row 030 coming in next week. Performance Imports quoted $1k for install and alignment. I'm considering DIY install.
BTW, we're having a group mtn drive Sat July 23rd......
Kevin,
I talked to Jay at J3 this morning and asked a few of the same questions. He said that the car was kept overnight to do the suspension upgrade. I'm considering x74, but they didn't have any experience with it.
Bill...I talked w/Jay this afternoon, and i think I'm going to have them do my install. It'll probably cost me a tad more, as I'm AWD....thanks for the lead.
regards,
Richard
The RoW C4S/TT uses the stock sways, the shocks and springs are matched for a lower ride, there actually is no '030' for the C4S or TT, they both have the same turbo tuned suspension, just US and RoW ride differences.
Here's the best explanation of 030 I've seen....it came from Gert:
In case of the 996 :
Some cars could be ordered with the optional M030 sport suspension.
The US 996 cars with M030 have the same ride height as the US cars with the normal suspension.
The RoW (=Rest of the World) 996 cars with the M030 have a 10mm lower ride.
For some of the 996 cars, there is a retrofit kit offered by Porsche.
This kit includes all parts to change its suspension into the RoW M030.
The components in the kit are based on some variables : C2 vs C4, Coupe vs Cab, 6-speed vs Tip and the 99-01 vs 02-05 cars.
In other words, each type of 996 has its designated M030 retrofit kit.
If you install this M030 retrofit on a RoW car with standard suspension, it will lower 10mm front and rear.
This kit installed on a US car will result in a lowering of 20mm in the front and 10mm in the rear.
This because the US cars are sitting 10mm higher in the front.
In case of the 996 Turbo and the 996C4S :
These cars (US and RoW) have the M030 as standard.
For that reason, there is no M030 retrofit kit from Porsche for the 996TT or the 996C4S.
The US 996 TT/C4S sit as high as the 996 with the standard suspension, while the RoW 996TT and C4S are lowered.
For the US cars, it is possible to install the shocks and springs from the RoW version of that particular car .
Since there is no kit , the shocks and springs need to be ordered separately.
That way, the car drops 20mm in the front and 10mm in the rear.
Changing just the springs and use them with US shocks is not a good idea.
These shocks are not made to work with springs that lower 2 and are much softer.
Bilstein has some replacement shocks designed to work with lowering springs.
These, with some H&R springs will make a good combination.
